The Dam is the first single-player mission inGoldeneye 007, widely seen as one of the best FPS shooters of all time. It’s a replayable opening mission that gets more challenging as players increase the difficulty level from Agent, Secret Agent, and 00 Agent, with additional objectives to tick off andGoldeneye 007Xbox achievementsto unlock.

The main objective of theGoldeneyeDam level for all difficulties is to reach and bungee jump from the platform, and it’s worth completing 00 Agent before Secret Agent to complete both difficulty levels at once. However, to get to the bungee jump platform, players must battle enemies from the start till the end and use some tricky control mechanics for the additional objectives. Fortunately, there are some tips to help players along the way, so they can focus on finishing the mission in one piece.
How To Bungee Jump From Platform (All Difficulties)
When beginning the mission, kill all enemies around Bond’s spawn point area, remembering to grab the sniper rifle from the tower. Use it to pick off enemies in the tunnel and at the end of the tunnel to pick off the guards in the distance inside the sniper station and nearby boxes. There’s also an enemy sneakily placed by the corner of the metal crates to the left. It’s worth noting the body armor at the top of the nearby tower is missing for 00 Agents.

Use the gate buttons to open the gate, and utilize the green truck as cover to take out the guards, where the green truck stops by the building with the garage door. Watch out for the guard and officer behind the garage area - open the door to head outside.At this point, players completing the mission on Secret Agent should destroy the nearby alarm. 00 Agents should also install the covert modem located behind the boxes.
Players completing the level on Agent now only need to shoot the gate’s padlock leading to the main Dam wall and snipe the guards patrolling the towers if they wish.To bungee jump from the platform,step off the open platform edge in the middle of the Dam wall to complete the objective and the mission, one of the iconic scenes fromtheGoldeneyemovie. However, Secret Agent and 00 Agent players have more to do.
How To Neutralize Alarms (Secret Agent And 00 Agent)
To neutralize the alarms, players must destroy4 red and white alarmsattached to walls throughout the level by shooting them until they explode, avoiding the blast. The first alarm is stuck on the wall of the garage building where the green truck stops, next to the wire fence. The remaining ones are inside each tower entrance on the Dam wall. When players destroy all alarms, a message indicates the objective is complete.
How To Install Covert Modem (00 Agent)
Beginner players may struggle withGoldeneye 007’s controls, and even veterans may need to get used to using the game’s interactable items, like the covert modem.To install the convert modem, head behind the stack of wooden boxes by the building where the green trucks stop and use the covert modem on the computer panel on the wall.

To select and install the covert modem, pause the game to display Bond’s watch and cycle the menus to reach the item inventory. Scroll down and select the covert modem before exiting the watch. Players should now see a white number 1 in the bottom right corner of the screen, indicating the covert modem is selected. Stand close to the computer screen panel and press the shoot button to deploy the device. This action attaches the modem to the computer panel and completes the objective.
How To Intercept Data Backup (00 Agent)
Once 00 Agent players have safely neutralized all alarms and installed the covert modem, it’s time to descend the stairs inside any of the 3 Dam wall towers leading to a long interconnecting tunnel. The tunnel is a challenging mission area, as Bond must kill all enemies while surviving with no body armor. Use corners and walls for cover, and watch out for explosive barrels and guards standing in corners. Players can also blow up boxes to take out bigger groups of enemies.
At the end of the corridor, carefully enter the blast door with the red arrow as a large group of enemies stands in the adjoining computer room. Take out all guards while avoiding hitting the server towers in the corner of the room.To intercept the data backup, press the interact button to trigger a data countdown and complete the objective. Head back to the Dam and step off the platform to initiate the bungee jump cutscene and successfully finish the mission.
