Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Editionwill be out in less than a week’s time, and hype is high for the collection. Xbox gamers have already been able to start theirGrand Theft Auto Trilogypreloading so that they’re ready to go once the November 11 release date rolls around. PlayStation gamers have had to wait a little longer to start theirGTA Trilogypreloads, but it should now be available to fans across PS4 and PS5.

TheGTA Trilogypreloadis live on PS4 and PS5, giving those that pre-order the chance to download the games in advance. SinceGTA Trilogyconsists of three different games, there are three different file sizes that PS4 and PS5 gamers have to keep in mind, and it’s worth pointing out that they don’t have to download all of the games at once. TheGrand Theft Auto 3file size is 5.2 GB, theGrand Theft Auto: Vice Cityfile size is 10.7 GB, and theGrand Theft Auto: San Andreasfile size is 22.6 GB.

While those unfamiliar with the games may be confused as to why theGrand Theft Auto: San Andreasfile sizeis so much bigger than the other games, it makes sense. After all,San Andreasis huge compared toVice CityandGTA 3, with a significantly larger open world and many new gameplay features. Combine the sheer size ofSan Andreaswith the more-intensive graphics thatGTA Trilogyis bringing to the table, and it’s really no surprise that it has such a bigger file size when compared to the other games in the collection.

Of course, going that route would leave gamers out of playing the revamped versions ofGrand Theft Auto: Vice CityandSan Andreas, both of which offer some pretty significant improvements overGTA 3. Not to mentionGTAfans likely want to get the full experience and see how all these PS2-eraGrand Theft Autogames feel withGTA 5-style controlsand new graphics.
