There are currently 25 keepsakes available for players to collect inHades, each with a unique bonus they give to players using them. Most of these (23 to be exact), can be obtained while playing through the game’s main story, but two of them require players to beat the story.Getting the Sigil of the Dead from Lord Hadesis one such example, but the other comes from a character even more pivotal to the story than the titular god of the Underworld.

Spoilers ahead forHades’story. Partway through Zagreus' repeated attempts to escape the Underworld, he and the player will discover that Persephone is his mother, not Nyx as he had once thought. This prompts the prince to search for his mother instead of the Olympians.

Zagreus' goal is to get Persephone to join him back in the Underworld, reuniting the family he never knew he had. This process is very difficult, and will require players to develop the skills necessary tobeat Hades in combatand overcome all sorts of challenges.

In order to get Persephone to return to the Underworld, players need to have 10 successful escape attempts. These don’t have to be consecutive, and are counted over the entire time fans are playing. After the tenth success, Persephone will ride back into the Underworld on Charon’s ferry with Zagreus at her side. After a series of cutscenes showing Persephone’s reuniting with Hades, players will once again be free toroam the House of Hades and give Nectar toHades’many NPCs.

After this, find Persephone standing in front of Cerberus to the left of Hades' throne. The player can talk with her to advance the story, but giving her a Nectar as a gift will prompt her to give Zagreus herkeepsake, the Pom Blossom, in return. Equipping this keepsake causes a random boon Zagreus has to level up once every so many encounters. At level one this effect takes place every six encounters, and by level three players will be getting a new level to their abilities every four  encounters instead.

The Pom Blossom can be used torandomly power up boons, but with a bit of planning and luck, it can become a really powerful keepsake necessary for certain builds. If players are able to stack up on Fated Authority, it’s possible to do an entire run with only one boon. Doing this can cause that boon to reach insane levels, making it possible to escape the Underworld as a one trick pony of sorts.

Hadesis available now on PC and Switch.
