The latestHalo Infinitetechnical preview is now in the books, with fans receiving an entire weekend to play around with some of the game’s maps, modes, and weapons. Of course, included in the new set of toys for theHalosandbox is a bevy of new equipment options. WhileHalo Infinite’s Grappling Hookhas been the most touted by developers, fans seem to be enjoying the Repulsor.
The Repulsor does exactly what the name suggests, shooting objects away from the player with the click of a button. While it’s a simple gadget, it’s also an effective tool for those that are able to use it wisely, being able to knock around players and objects. Mechanically, it’s similar toLucio’s weapon inOverwatch, which allows the hero to blast enemies off of ledges. Of course, that’s translated well to Halo Infinite, where equipment and power weapons are emphasized.

Right now, theHalo Infinitesubreddit, andHalofans internet-wide, are taking some time to show off the impressive kill clips they managed to snag with the Repulsor. These have ranged from players knocking enemies off the map all the way to pulling off trickshots by smacking enemies with repulsed vehicles, not to mention just about everything in between.
All around, the new equipment options featured in the game seem to be adding exciting new options for high-level play. While they can be used to zoom around the map or knock things off of ledges, the equipment option is also giving players the opportunity to turn the tides on other players when they’re at a disadvantage. By introducing more versatile equipment, 343 Industries is effectivelychanging the wayHalois played.
There’s anotherHalo InfiniteTest Flightscheduled for this upcoming weekend, and fans will likely be sharing clips from it, too. So far, 343 Industries has been pretty generous with updates about Halo Infinite’s launch, and the opportunity for players to jump into the Flights have painted a better picture of what Halo Infinite will be when it launches. Not everyone has gotten to partake in the action, but it’s always possible that 343 Industries runs an open beta sometime between now and when the game launches.
