Prior toHalo Infinite’s launch in 2021, 343 Industries confirmed that its first-person shooter would arrive without a game mode that has played a key role in the franchise’s success through the years. That mode is the Forge, which allowsHaloplayers to create custom game experiences like the now-beloved Grifball. The release date forHalo Infinite’s Forge has yet to be announced, but anticipation is understandably high. In the meantime, some Forge leaks have revealed some of the upcoming mode’s new features.SomeHalo 5players might recall a glitch that allowed players to “combine” weapons. The glitch allowed weapons with a REQ variant to swap their properties with another weapon. This glitch allowed some very interesting weapons to be created, like allowing aSpartan Laserto fire guided rockets. 343 apparently thought this idea was great, as it’s now added the ability to combine weapons inHalo Infinite’s Forge. This feature is what’s now been showcased in two leaked videos.RELATED:Halo Infinite Changes Offensive Juneteenth NameplateThe first leaked video is almost a guide to the new Forge feature, claiming to have recorded the footage from atest flight ofHalo Infinite. To start, the video showsHalo Infinite’s new graphic scripting system for Forge. Players will be able to use the simple system to create complicated game modes with relative ease. Through this, the player was able to use a “Weapon Type Combination” node to create new weapons.
Several new weapon configurations are then shown in both the first and second video. Combinations include the Battle Rifle and Skewer, the Plasma Pistol and Disrupter, the Skewer and Ravager, the Heatwave and Hydra, the Heatwave and Ravager, the Gravity Hammer andEnergy Sword, the Sidekick and Energy Sword, the Cindershot and Rocket Launcher, the Cindershot and Pulse Carbine, the Sentinel Beam and Heatwave, and even a prototype gravity gun that the leaker doesn’t fully explain.
If there’s a message conveyed by the two leaked videos, it’s thatHalo Infiniteplayerswill be able to get very creative with what they make in the Forge. While a quick glance at potential weapon combinations may only show how powerful these weapons can be, over timeHalo Infiniteplayers will find ways to combine weapons in ways that might lend themselves to new and creative game modes.
As noted,Halo Infinite’s Forge is still currently in development and doesn’t have a release date. What’s currently known is that it’s expected with thelaunch ofHalo InfiniteSeason 3, which tentatively could arrive in November. Given that Forge is actively being tested, as evidenced by these leaked videos, it’s safe to say that it’s just a matter of time beforeHalo Infiniteplayers get their hands on it.
