WhileHalo Infinitehas been dealing with server issues since launch, recent server outages are leaving players frustrated by taking away something that is vital for progression.

Players who activated XP boosts are alerting 343 Industries that their boosts are disappearing during periods of server outages, even when the players are unable to join a match. Regardless of whether a player is fighting in Team Slayer or in the lobby waiting to join a game ofBig Team Battle, if a player activates a 30-minute XP boost, then that boost will continue to count down.

Players are reaching out to Halo Support in the hopes of restoring lost XP boosts, but the response they are getting is not what they want, as one player on Reddit shared. Unfortunately, 343 Industries won’t and is unable to refund any XP boosts players have lost during a server outage. Suffice to say that players did not take the news very well.

Halo Infiniteplayers take what they can get to earn XP, and double XP boosts are vital to progress through the Battle Pass. Because XP boosts are very important to leveling, being unable to take advantage of them further compounds the issues associated with progression, frustrating players. What can be especially infuriating is if a player loses an XP boost acquired through Credits. Not only would a player be missing out on double XP, but that player is also losing money.

While players are currently unable to receive any support or compensation as a result of the server outages, 343 Industries is working onimprovements toHalo Infinite’sprogression. The development studio is making adjustments to the cash shop that will make its way into the game as soon as next week, and it’s continuing to look at challenges and their XP gains.

Server issues appear to have subsided for now, but players can still experience these same issues in the future. Unless the developers decide to take the steps that would enable them to compensate players as a result of server outages, players will want to stay cautious when activating anXP boostat the risk of wasting it.

Halo Infiniteis now available on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
