The popular setting is, of course, the place where Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) becomes close friends with Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) and Hermione Granger (Emma Watson). It’s also a richly drawn and detailed location that has many rules and regulations. One of the most important rules is what happens when a student is expelled from Hogwarts.

What Happens If A Student Is Expelled From Hogwarts?

One of the most memorable rules at Hogwarts has to do with expulsion. If a student is expelled from Hogwarts, it often means that they have hurt someone. This is the main reason that a student would be told that they have to leave and this is something that is taken very seriously. It should be noted that expelled Hogwarts students who finished their Ordinary Wizarding Level exams can keep doing magic. The Ministry of Magic won’t take their wands. Has A Student Ever Been Expelled From Hogwarts?
Harry Potter is almost expelled from Hogwarts when he gets into trouble for doing underage magic with Dudley Dursley (Harry Melling), a muggle, right there. There are a lot of rules about muggles in the franchise, includingthe Muggle Protection Act, and doing magic where a muggle can see is a huge problem. Harry thinks that his time at Hogwarts is over, but after a meeting at the school, he is cleared of all wrongdoing and everything is fine. Whilesome things about muggles are confusing, it seems logical that doing magic with a muggle in view would be viewed as a problem.
There is one Hogwarts student who gets expelled: the lovable Rubeus Hagrid (Robbie Coltrane). In year three of his time at the school, Tom Riddle goes into the Chamber of Secrets and lets a monster out. He blames Hagrid for this, who is expelled as a result. This is a traumatic moment for Hagrid, who fans know would never do anything as terrible as this. But it’s an important plotline since it emphasizes the problem withTom Riddle, who becomes Voldemort.
Hagrid goes through a tough time after this and the Ministry of Magic takes his wand away. Hagrid starts getting back on track when he is given the job of the Keeper of Keys and Grounds.Hagrid isn’t allowed at Hogwartsfor a while because of this problem. But, thankfully, he is able to come back. It’s impossible to picture theHarry Potterfranchise without Hagrid being there for Harry.
