When most players see one ofCall of Duty: Warzone’s under-appreciated Riot Shields pop out of a loot crate, they are quick to ignore it in favor of aflashier weapon with more firepower. A recent clip, however, shows that sometimes the best offense is a good defense.
There are a number of different strategies to win a match inWarzone,from an aggressive run-and-gun style, to camping, tocracking the code to Bunker 11and arming to the teeth. That’s what keeps players coming back toWarzoneand dropping in for another round.

In a clip posted to Reddit, a player encounters a wall of Riot Shield users and is quickly swarmed by the squad; having walked right into their trap. The Riot Shield offers nearly full-body protection, with the large shield covering all but the feet of a player from being targeted. There are certainly strategies to counter this, but in a close-quarters fight and with multiple enemy team members sporting the bulky shield, the unlucky player had little in the way of options to fight back. The player can’t help but laugh at their fate.
Call of Duty: Warzoneis often an intense experience, stakes are high and the action is fast-paced, which is why moments of humor found along the way help to lighten the mood. Case in point, theplayer killed by the unluckiest supply dropto ever grace the game. Having an item that is supposed to help a player end up being their downfall or encountering a whole team moving like a phalanx offers some levity to an otherwise serious game.
