Hogwarts Legacyis shaping up to be an immersive simulation of what life would be like as a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The latest development updates that have been released from WB Games Avalanche demonstrate this concept as a priority feature, withan ambient nighttime in spring shared as an ASMR video.
But inHogwarts Legacy’s State of Play gameplay presentationlast March, there were a number of things for fans to unpack, with some features being more preferable than others. Indeed,Hogwarts Legacyis ambitiously taking on a wealth of features and mechanics that may all be engaging and fun from moment-to-moment, but it appears as though fans are more concerned with visuals, such as character models and animations in general. Thankfully, WB Games Avalanche Community Director Chandler Wood has put at least one animation qualm to rest.

Wood shares a brief clip of acustomHogwarts Legacyprotagonistcasually jogging around in an open settlement. In the clip, fans can see the character’s ankle-length Hufflepuff robes billowing behind them as they jog, as well as their scarf’s length bouncing about, reacting to their sudden changes in direction. The entire purpose of the clip is to ensure that these animations have been worked on and polished since the gameplay presentation, which also demonstrates that WB Games Avalanche’s reception to feedback has been constructive.
It may be a trivial matter to some players who may not have even noticed that these animations had been improved. Immersion may come in many forms, whether that is the simple experience players receive from an atmospheric standpoint or a purely visual standpoint. But there are many fans who noticed thatHogwarts Legacy’s animations could use some workto make them more realistic, and their concerns will hopefully now be resolved.
If this clip is any confirmation of feedback assurance, fans will also hopefully see updates in the future that address other polish-related nitpicks that they may have. Such complaints have suggested that character model facial animations could look smoother, and that the character model is awkwardly stiff while riding atop a broomstick or hippogriff.
These will likely be looked after next, followingHogwarts Legacy’s drastic improvement of robe physics. With any luck, all of these animations will look much better whenHogwarts Legacyreleases at the end of the year, and subsequent updates from Wood would certainly be appreciated in the meantime to continue ensuring fans that their concerns are being addressed.
Hogwarts Legacyis scheduled to be released in the holiday of 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
