Each character inHonkai: Star Railhas a designated Path that shows where their potential lies. Erudition characters are best for AoE attacks, while Hunt units shine in single-target scenarios. Considering most ofHonkai: Star Rail’s gameplayincludes a boss to beat, Hunt is a highly reliable DPS that should be included in tough battles.

It’s not easy to decide the ranking of each Hunt character inHonkai: Star Railsince they have their own kits and roles to play during combat. However, a tier list is always useful to decide who’s the next Hunt unit to level up and invest in.
4Dan Heng
Dan Heng is a great Hunt character, but he falls short in additional kits whencompared to his peers. He also has a rather low base ATK, which is unfortunate considering he should be carrying the team’s DMG.
His gameplay demands people to bring a support for him. First, his Talent allows him to increase his Wind RES PEN, but only if an ally uses their ability on him beforehand. This Talent also can only activate once every two turns. Second, his Ultimate can deal great DMG, but players must first ensure the enemy is Slowed. Dan Heng can slow the enemy himself by using his Skill, but in some cases, using his Skill before Ultimate can be quite a waste. For instance, if his Energy is full, using Skill will mean he lost the Energy he’s supposed to gain.
All in all,Dan Heng is an excellent DPS, but his true potential only comes when he’s properly supported, so he has to settle with the lower rank on the Hunt character tier list for now.
3Sushang
Whenever players need aPhysical character inHonkai: Star Railto defeat enemies with Physical Weakness Break, Sushang is a perfect choice. The best ability Sushang has is getting her turn back after casting her Ultimate, which players can abuse by making her act three times back to back. This is crucial for her build since moving this amount of times almost ensures she’s going to be the one who completely depletes enemies’ Toughness. So, building her on more Break Effect will increase the damage she deals when breaking enemies' Toughness.

Unfortunately, Sushang suffers from the same issue as Dan Heng since her kit is very specific, and she can’t realize her true potential without a proper setup.
2Yanqing
Moving away from niche characters and entering the overpowered area starts with Yanqing. As a5-star character inHonkai: Star Rail, Yanqing has everything a DPS needs. From Crit DMG and Crit Rate to increasing his own damage, Yanqing can boost all his offensive stats and makes building as easy as it gets. Yanqing’s Ultimate alone grants him a whopping 60% Crit Rate, which justifies planting any and every Crit DMG stat players can find into his build.
Not only that but Yanqing’s Traces further give small buffs on top of all the other buffs he gives himself, like dealing more damage against targets with Ice weakness, and increasing his SPD when triggering a Crit hit. All in all,Yanqing is a strong reliable Hunt character that can fit anywhere inHonkai: Star Rail’s gameplay.
1Seele
Seele may look like a typical Hunt unit and deal only single-target damage, but this unit knows no mercy upon anyone on the other side of the field. If Seele defeats an enemy, she can move again with a powerful buffed state, which makes her perfect to clear squishy enemies. The double turn also means players can easily recharge her Ultimate; defeating an enemy with Ultimate can then trigger another extra turn, making Seele amazing even for a multi-target scenario.

Seele also increases her own SPD after using her Skill, which means she can move often with all of her kits combined. This is especially important when fighting againstHonkai: Star Railbossesas players would want to hit as much as possible.
Honkai: Star Railis now available on Android, iOS, and PC. A PlayStation version is in development.
