Players can buy wet suits from the Nook Stop or from Nook’s Cranny in the cabinet alongside other tools.

Players who’ve already been out on the water inAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsprobably know this, but players can swim by facing a direction and pressing the A button or whatever the A button was remapped to. Additionally, players can dive underwater by pressing the Y button or whatever the Y button was remapped to.

Some players may think that holding the A button is the most efficient way of travel, as it will keep the player’s villager moving in the water while the button is held. However, this isn’t the best strategy fortreading water fast.

The best way to make it across the water as fast as possible is to mash the A button while swimming as fast as possible. This will cause the player’s villager to perform a breast stroke, which is a much faster swimming stroke than a normal one. While this might not be necessary for casual swims, some of the catchable creatures found in the ocean’s depths also move fast such asscallops and snow crabs.

This movement method also works whilediving underwater. Players usually need to act extra fast anyway while under the water due to there being a limit for how long players can stay before coming back up for air.

There aren’t anyspecial wet suitsthat make swimming faster as of yet and there aren’t any accessories or clothing options that affect swimming speeds as well. Additionally, there aren’t any accessories or clothing options that affect how long players can hold their breaths underwater while hunting for creatures.
