This landmark is within Ecruteak City, an old fashioned town withinGold and Silver’s Johto Region. Players get the chance to travel here in search of the fourth Gym Badge, the Fog Badge. Players must overcome the Gym Leader Morty, a trainer who hasa team comprised of Ghost-type Pokemon, in order to obtain the badge. Aside from that, the city is also home to two landmarks: the Brass Tower and Bell Tower. According to the lore, the legendary Ho-oh stayed atop the Bell Tower and created the three legendary beasts after the Brass Tower burned down. This tower made it the perfect backdrop for an artist on Reddit.

Posted to the r/pokemon subreddit by a user MenBeGamingBadly, the art piece showcases the different aspects of the tower. It also depictsPokemonGold’s box art legendary, Ho-oh, flying away from the tower. A trainer can also be seen walking up to the location, with a Pokeball in hand, wearing a kimono. All of this is set to the atmosphere of a setting sun in the Johto Region.
Despite the art looking more like a traditional painting, the artist admitted that it is actually all digital and not painted on a canvas. Many of the redditors praised the piece, some complimenting the warm palette, while other users commended the portrayal of the Johto landmark. Many Reddit users were also quick to applaud the usage of the colors to bring out the spirit ofthe Rainbow Pokemon Ho-ohagainst the setting sun.
WithPokemon Gold and Silverbeing games that are still looked upon fondly, this art piece will surely bring some nostalgia to Generation 2 fans. The games had remakes in the form ofHeart GoldandSoul Silveron the DS for the fourth generation of Pokemon, but are slowly becoming harder to obtain as the series moves on. While some fans might say that a port of those two games to modern hardware might be the solution, there could be someproblems with a port of Heart Gold and Soul Silverto the Switch.
