Kirkman, who created theInvinciblecomic book series, toldInverseabout a villain from the comics who will appear whenInvincibleseason 2 premieres. “Some large or small aspect of Season 2 focuses on the Angstrom Levy character,” Kirkman said. “He’ll be a new villain that comes into the series. And if you’ve read the comics, you’re aware of who he is and what his deal is. He’s a villain that has access to multiple dimensions, and so it’s another one of those dang multiverse things.”
Angstrom Levy is acharacter from theInvinciblecomics. He is in a horrible accident involving Invincible that results in Levy becoming disfigured. Levy blames Invincible for the accident and his disfigurement and vows to get revenge on him using his multiversal powers. Kirkman also revealed that Levy’s story will be slightly different from the comics, saying, “We do things in a different way [than the comics], so there’s a little bit of a unique flavor to what we’re doing.”
Fans of the comics will be excited, as they know Levy is an interesting character and a great villain for Invincible. Hopefully, comic book fans will enjoy the “unique flavor” given to the show’s adaptation of the character. The new character joining the show means that Invincible is joining a trend of many other superhero projects that involve the multiverse.
TheSpider-Versefilms,Spider-Man: No Way Home,Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and, most recently,The Flashhave all dealt with the multiverse. Kirkman didn’t say how involved the multiverse will be inInvincibleseason 2 but expect it to be more grounded in the story rather than a handful of cameos.
