John Wickis getting a prequel series that will follow the world of assassins in the hidden organization established during the three movies. The series will be titledThe Continental,which is the name of the hotel safe haven for assassins and hitmen in the world ofJohn Wick.

The Continentalwas a long-rumored project before getting its official green light. The show will be a limited television series based on theJohn Wickmovies, serving as the first spin-off project. The show will be set many years before the firstJohn Wickfilm, whenKeanu Reeves' eponymous charactermay actually be a young kid.

So instead, Winston Scott will be serving as the main character, with a much younger actor playing the part. Deadline reports the lead role ofThe Continentalwas cast and the showrunners picked Colin Woodell to star as the protagonist. Woodell is knownfor roles such asThe Flight Attendant,The Call of the Wild, andUnfriended: Dark Web. The series will be brought to fans by Lionsgate and is slated to air on Starz. The series consists of three 90-minute episodes and also stars Mel Gibson. As of now, it’s reported that Reeves will not be making an appearance, fans should keep an open mind for a potential cameo.

For those who don’t know, Winston Scott is much older in theJohn Wickfilms and he serves as the manager of The Continental. He rose to power and has a lot of influence, so it would make for a compelling story to see how the character went from where he was to where he is now. The older version of Winston Scott in theJohn Wickfilms is portrayed by Ian McShane.

TheJohn Wickseriesis a very great example of action done well. The movies are good at orchestrating fight scenes and displaying brutality, all while having a story that drives the plot forward as fans get to follow the famed and feared assassin.
