With Ubisoft’s E3 presentation now less than a day away,Far Cryfans shouldn’t have to wait too much longer to find out more about the series' upcoming sixth entry. There’s already plenty of information aboutFar Cry 6floating around, but many expect Ubisoft to delve much deeper into the game during its E3 event. Despite the publisher’s best efforts, however, it seems as though some of the information earmarked for the occasion has leaked early in the form of a YouTube ad for theFar Cry 6Season Pass.
The advert first started popping up for YouTube users in Russia, with a few people posting about it on Reddit and Twitter. It was eventually downloaded and shared online, allowingFar Cryfans to get a better look at exactly what’s in store. The trailer shows Vaas, Pagan Min and Joseph, all but confirming that the villains will be making a return inFar Cry 6’s DLC. That’s far from the biggest talking point, though.

Emblazoned upon the screen at certain points during the trailer are the words “You Are..” together with each villain’s name, suggesting that fans won’t be fighting against the trio this time around, but instead fightingasthem. As such, it seems as though Ubisoft is taking a similar approach withFar Cry 6’s DLC as it did withthe DLC forFar Cry 5, which served as an anthology of sorts rather than being connected directly to the game’s main story.
Why exactly the advert was only shown in certain regions remains unclear, although some are speculating that it has something to do with time zones. WithUbisoft’s Forward event set to take place at E3 on Saturday, it may well be that the ad went live early in countries where it’s already the 12th some 12 hours ahead of schedule. Regardless of how it happened though, there can be no doubting the trailer’s authenticity.
Though the prospect of being able to play asFar Cry’s most iconic villainsmay come as a surprise to some, rumors of playable villains inFar Cry 6’s DLC have actually been floating around for quite a while now. Redditor JohnWickPrick first posted about it at the beginning of January, mentioned all three villains shown in the trailer and suggesting that they would be playable in the game’s DLC.
Far Cry 6launches October 7, on Amazon Luna, PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
