Reddit user cube0567 posted their final carving with just over a week to go until Halloween. The post has received over 429 upvotes so far. While this project probably did not take 7000 hours of work to complete like someotherMinecraftprojects, the crafty Redditor paid close attention to detail as the carving took shape. Starting with cutting the top off the gourd, cube0567 removed the seeds and some pulp from the pumpkin, carved the face to shape, and finished the job with a candle as the light source. The Reddit user stated in the comments that anyone can do this particular carving, noting that it is easy to do.

For players looking to find pumpkins of their own inMinecraft, the gourds should not be difficult to track down. Pumpkins generally spawn in the extreme hills biomes and plains biome, with the only conditions needed being a grassy patch below the pumpkin and some air above them free of other plants, such as flowers and grass. As for actual pumpkins, prospective carvers can take inspiration froma multitude of video game-themed pumpkinsif so desired. With a week until Halloween, ghoulish delights and spooky frights await those that dare to scare.

What isn’t a Halloween trick is the continued success ofMinecraftto this day. Following the departure of the game’s original creator, Markus “Notch” Persson, Mojang Studios was purchased by Microsoft in November 2014 for $2.5 billion. At the time, the purchase raised eyebrows, as Microsoft seemed to pay quite the sum for the studio and IP. In retrospect, Mojang’s price tag seems paltry compared to the ongoingacquisition talks between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard. The latter has an estimated price tag of $68.7 billion by comparison, which is over 27 times the price Microsoft paid for Mojang. Whether the deal goes through or not, one thing is for certain. The possibilities are endless, for Microsoft,Minecraft, and the future of players and game developers alike.

Minecraftis available now for PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and legacy platforms.
