Playing with friends is pretty fun inMLB The Show 22. The pitch-by-pitch experience allows for a looser, conversational kind of contention. These moments can be filled with catching up on life or the classic trash talk. Either way, there’s something to be had for anybody who wants to play against their buddies.
How to play against friends isn’t too tough. Really, it’s more about deciding what to play than how to play.MLB The Show 22offers multiple game modes for any kind of sports gamer from full-fledged fantasy leagues to all-time exhibitions, to the classic my-team-versus-your-team experience.
Enable Crossplay And Add Friends
Of course, none of these modes will work without first allowing the system to play with friends. For those on the Switch, Xbox, and or PlayStation, the default should have cross play enabled. If it’s off, turn it on to play with pals on other consoles.

It’s a shame that PC gamers are still waiting for their shot at the game, but this will satisfy other consoles for now. If needing to add friends, hit the “Friends” button, tab over to the right once, and click “Send new friend request” to feel a little less lonely.
Some players might prefer the old commentary team compared tothe new broadcast booth, but when jawing with friends, they’re all background characters. The main focus of the player-versus-player is the Diamond Dynasty mode, pitting a fantasy team against a fantasy team.

The option is buried, possibly more than it should be, but the experience is fun. The balance of talent and luck makes it so that spending thousands of dollars on the mode isn’t a guaranteed way to win.
Other Modes
Diamond Dynasty might be the signature way to play against friends, but franchise mode and straight-up exhibition matches haven’t been forgotten either. By clicking on the friend, players can have a no-stakes head-to-head classic matchup using their favorite team.
Franchise mode allows players to control their team throughout a season; they can even have one friend for each team for a potentially massive spectacle fit for an entire workplace. Conduct trades and see who can best improve their team for a drawn-out and rewarding experience.
MLB The Show 22was released on April 5th, 2022, and is available on Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PlayStation 5.
