Summary

MultiVersushas temporarily disabled the Iron Giant after receiving feedback from the community about issues surrounding the character. InMultiVersus, players have a variety of characters from Warner Bros. IPs to choose from and compete inSuper Smash Bros. Bros-esque matches. One of these characters is the Iron Giant, an iconic figure from the 90s.

The Iron Giant stars in the famous 1999 film of the same name, which tells the story of a giant alien robot who lands on Earth and befriends a young boy. Living up to the character, the Iron Giant is one ofMultiVersus' tank characters, who are distinguished by being sluggish, but having high defense, and great firepower.Hitting the Iron Giant inMultiVersusis theoretically simple due to his large size, but the fighter is proving to be a formidable opponent, which has led the devs to make an important decision.

New MultiVersus Update Has Fans Wanting to Save the Game

MultiVersushas temporarily disabled the Iron Giant, making it impossible for players to choose the character in any game mode. In a message on the official Twitter profile, theMultiVersusdevs confirmed the existence of problems with the Iron Giant but didn’t detail the exact reason for the fighter’s deactivation. While he is unavailable,MultiVersusplayers will be able to play Garnet, who will be one of the options in the weekly rotation of free fighters.

Iron Giant Has Been Giving MultiVersus Players Headaches

While Player First Games hasn’t given details on the exact reason for disabling theIron Giant inMultiVersus, the game’s community has been having headaches with the fighter because of a glitch. Due to this glitch, players can use the Iron Giant’s abilities inMultiVersusto perform at least four “touch-of-death combos” in a relatively simple way. The result is a sequence of blows that starts at 0% damage and ends by knocking out the opponent.

TheMultiVersusdevs promise to update players next week on the status of the Iron Giant, who has no date set to return to the game. Curiously, this isn’t the first time that the Iron Giant has been in the spotlight for balancing issues, having been banned from severalMultiVersustournaments after the launch of the beta version for being too strong. That is also not the first time a character has been removed from the game. During the beta period, players were unable toplayMultiVersuswith LeBron James, who was temporarily disabled by the discovery of a game-breaking bug that affected his special move.
