As reported by Push Square,Naughty DogCo-president Neil Druckmann gave an interview with The New Yorker about the upcoming TV show based onThe Last of Us. While a majority of the article deals with the TV show, fans will notice some new information about an in-development Naughty Dog game right at the end. Druckmann confirms that his next project is a game that is structured “more like a TV show” than anything else made by the studio. He also mentions that he isn’t working on the script alone or with a single partner, as Naughty Dog is assembling a writer’s room for this next game.
The interview doesn’t reveal much about Naughty Dog’s upcoming game, so fans will have to wait for an official announcement. As of now, users can only guess the implications behind it being designed like a TV show. Although, it probably will not be an episodic release like the originalLife is Strangeor titles made by Telltale Games.
Even though the PS5 is over two years old, Naughty Dog is yet to release a new game for Sony’s latest console. AsThe Last of Us Part 1is a remake of an older title, the first new release will probably be the multiplayer project set in the same universe. Rumors have been circulating about thenext game in production at Naughty Dogfor a while, with recent leaks pointing to it being a new fantasy IP.
