Add another horror game coming to PlayStation 5, asIn Sound Mindhas now officially been announced for the next-generation console. The PS5 confirmation came via the Youtube description ofIn Sound Mind’s newest trailer, released as part of thePC Gaming Show 2020presentation. WhileIn Sound Mindis certainly worth looking forward to, the psychological horror game still needs some time in development. The game is planned to release some time in 2021.
In Sound Mindremains amysterious project, in many ways. Players will awaken in a mysterious and terrifying building, where it seems like corridors shift and come to life. Exploring this building reveals dark secrets, victims of a mysterious experimental chemical, and dark visions that blend the imaginary with reality. The one grounding agent is a cat named Tonia, but clearly there’s more to Tonia than meets the eye, as well.

Gameplay inIn Sound Mindis experienced through a first-person lens, as is increasingly common withmodern horror games. Players will strive to solve unique puzzles while being hunted by all manner of monsters. ButIn Sound Mindalso features combat, with players utilizing a variety of weapons against their nightmares. There are even boss fights for players to take on, so long as they can overcome their fears.
The horror game is being developed by studio We Create Stuff, best known for making roughshod indie horror mods and browser games. Nightmare House 2 is perhaps their best-known,cult classic horror game, at least until now.In Sound Mindis certainly a step up in difficulty for the team, but it’s also certainly looking like a whole lot of fun.

In Sound Mindjoins a growing list of interesting horror games confirmed for the PS5. Thursday’s PS5 event saw the announcement ofResident Evil 8, for example, as well as a mysterious horror game namedPragmatafrom Capcom. There’s also the previously announcedGhostwire TokyoandQuantum Error, among others. Horror is definitely going to be a part of the next generation of consoles.
