Summary

It’s no secret thatStarfieldshares a few similarities toNo Man’s Skyin certain places, but one fan of both space-based games flies the same ship in both titles after recreating theirNo Man’s Skystarship in Bethesda’s new RPG. While the two games are far less similar than they might seem,Starfield’sin-depth ship customization mechanic means that players can recreate almost any type of spacecraft.

With ship building and customization initially being one of the more appealing aspects ofStarfield, fans have already used the tool to great effect by manufacturing spaceships of all shapes and sizes.Starfieldfans have already built ships based on Pokemon, cargo freighters capable of hauling incredible amounts of storage, an awesome in-game replica of the Millennium Falcon, and much more. Aside from designing the ideal ship to travel the stars and live in,Starfield’s ships can also be heavily upgraded, with players able to greatly enhance their craft’s combat abilities with unique weapons, more storage units, and more - often at a large cost of credits.

WhileNo Man’s Skydoes feature a practically infinite range of unique shipsas well, ship customization is a mechanic that has never been added to the game, forcing players to instead find their dream starship by exploring the game’s nearly boundless universe. One resourceful player known as GHZ33 with an interest in both popular space exploration games even managed to recreate their mainNo Man’s Skystarship inStarfield, allowing them to essentially fly the same vessel in two completely separate adventures. They shared an image of this feat via a post on Reddit which compares their recreation inStarfieldto their actual Explorer-class starship inNo Man’s Sky, replicating the overall design, colors, and even weapon mounts.

While on the surfaceStarfieldandNo Man’s Skyseem to be very similar in terms of aesthetics and gameplay, a closer look at both games will reveal that they each offer very different experiences.Starfieldis frequently considered to be like “Falloutin space,” though regardless, the two space games do have certain things in common. This has led many fans of the games to suggest howStarfieldcould potentially learn fromNo Man’s Sky, and vice versa - with some examples of this potentially already existing in the latter game, asNo Man’s Sky’s latest update introduced a starship power diversion system not unlike that seen inStarfield.

Still, the incrediblepotential of ship customization inStarfieldis already quite evident thanks to the incredible things that players have come up with. With fans often showing off awesome new designs, time will tell what unique creations they might come out with next.
