After a 2-week break,One Piece1085 finally dropped and, it goes without saying that this chapter was one of the very best this year, possibly being the best and the most shocking one at the same time. The break was certainly worth the wait asOda delivered a chapter that left the jaws of the fans wide open.

As expected, this week’sOne Piecechapter covered the events of the Reverie in full. While the vast majority of the smaller events were covered in the previous chapter, the biggest of shocks dropped inOne Piece1085 and it was certainly one that changed the world ofOne Pieceas fans know it, forever.
Imu’s Appearance
The last chapter ofOne Pieceended on a very shocking cliffhanger withImu, the sovereign of the world, walking into the room where King Cobra had an audience with the Five Elders. Cobra, as fans know,asked them about Queen Lilyfrom the olden days. He inquired about her tragic death which was very mysterious and sudden and, later on, he also asked about the meaning of the letter D. Suddenly, Imu walked in and climbed upon the Empty Throne, which shocked Cobra to his very core. In this week’s chapter, Imu continued the conversation with Cobra and although they didn’t answer the question about Queen Lily’s demise, they did provide some context on the whole situation.
According to Imu, the people of the D. are the enemies of theirs and those who built the World Government from long ago, however, now, they are only empty shells as they don’t even know the true meaning of their own names. Imu then went on to say that Queen Lily committed a grave blunder in the past. There is a lot of nuance to this statement as what Queen Lily did appears to be a blunder from Imu’s point of view, however, it is actually something that she did willingly. Queen Lily was, in fact, a member of the D Family, as was revealed inOne Piece1085. In fact, she also somehow spread the Poneglyphs all over the world. How exactly she managed this isn’t known and Imu refers to this as a mistake, however, this was an action with intention and that is backed up by the fact that she left her letter and asked the people of the world to protect the Poneglyphs so that the flag of liberation can one day fly when the dawn comes.
The Death Of Cobra
One Piece1085, titled the death of King Cobra, was, obviously, going to show the fans how this beloved monarch finally met his end. As soon as Imu walked into the room, his fate was sealed and he realized that he was going to die. Even though he asked the Five Elders if there was anything he could do to leave the room alive, their answer was simply no and they prepared to kill him. Nonetheless, Imu revealed a few secrets to him before he met his end and, shortly afterwards, a tail shaped like an arrow, covered in a silhouette, pierced him through his gut.
Whether this is truly just an arrow or actually a tail of an ancient creature remains to be seen, however, it appears that either can be the case. Regardless, King Cobra realized that he was going to die and shortly after he was attacked, Sabo jumped into the fray. Surprisingly, nobody in the room had noticed Sabo and this is likely down to the fact that he was suppressing his presence, as fans know, is possible in the world ofOne Piece.

Even skilled users of Observation Haki cannot detect someone who is hiding his presence very well. Although Sabo attempted to save Cobra, in the end, Cobra sacrificed his life in order to get Sabo to safety. He asked Sabo to deliver a very important message to Luffy and Vivi and tell them that they are the people of the D.
Sabo Vs. The Five Elders And Imu
Sabo played a major role inOne Piece1085 as soon as he sprung into action against the World Government’s highest authority.He launched a powerful Fire Fistat the Five Elders and then used a Smothered Mate attack to burn Imu. Sabo’s goal was to take all of them out in a single attack, however, unbeknownst to him, these people turned out to be monstrously powerful in their own right. All of the Gorosei transformed into their Devil Fruit forms, as did Imu. In fact, Imu simply ate the Fire that Sabo threw at them, however, how exactly they did this remains to be seen. None of the Devil Fruit transformations of these individuals was shown to the fans as all of them were covered in silhouettes. However, it is highly likely that all of them are Zoan users with mythical forms.
Some of them appear to hold Hito Hito no Mi powers as well. In fact, the arrow that pierced King Cobra appears to have come from one of the Gorosei. Sabo quickly realized that he couldn’t take all of them on alone and he attempted to save Cobra and run, however, cobra realized that he would only slow him down, so he asked him to pass on his secret message to Vivi and Luffy. Cobra then recited the letter by Nefertari D. Lily and the letter clearly said that the Poneglyphs must be protected and the flag that heralds the dawn must be waved.
Wapol To The Rescue
As soon as Sabo escaped from the room, fans got to see that there was actually another person close by who was witnessing all the events and that was none other than Wapol. Even though Wapol hated Cobra, the fact that he saw the true identity of those sitting at the top of the world meant that he was going to die and, a part of him actually felt bad for Cobra, which was new for a despicable character such as himself. Seeing that, he started running as fast as he could towards an exit from the cursed place. In the meanwhile, fans also got to see Vivi, who was now capturedby the Cipher Pol.It appears that the death of Cobra and the abduction of Princess Vivi was planned all along and Vivi was going to be made a slave of the World Government or the Nobles.
Thankfully, Wapol walked in and Vivi clung to him. Wapol started running through the walls towards an exit, fearing for his life and Vivi hitched a ride on him. Fans already know that they somehow end up in the company of Big News Morgans, who, strangely enough, hasn’t spread this information about Imu over the entire world. What exactly he plans to do with this information might be revealed to the fans in the upcoming chapter. For now, Wapol is on his way out of the Pangea Castle and the vast majority of the events related to the Reverie have already been covered. Undoubtedly, it was an incredible chapter and most certainly the very best of this year so far.
