Ben Beckman has not been heavily involved in the story up until this point, however, now thatOne Pieceis in the Final Saga, The Red Hair Pirates, in general, are going to be more involved. That means characters such as Shanks and Ben are going to be heavily involved in whatever arcs are to follow. More focus will be thrown on the strength of not just the red-haired Yonko but also Ben Beckman.
Ben Beckman’s Role
Ben Beckman is, first of all, the First Mate of the Red Hair Pirates. For those who do not know, the First Mate is the pirate who is classified as the Vice Captain of the crew. A lot of people falsely assume that a First Mate is the first person to join the crew. This is not true. Simply put, a First Mate is the Vice Captain of the crew and Ben Beckman assumes this role for the Red Hair Pirates. As the official Vice Captain, it is only natural that his level of strength is going to be higher than that of the other Officers on the crew. Beckman himself boasts a very high reputation in the One Piece world and this was seen when he briefly confronted Kizaru on Egghead Island, where he showed him the level of threat he possessed.
Apart from being the Vice Captain of the crew, Ben Beckman is much more. He is also the person who keeps Shanks in check. Shanks is a very hearty person and someone who wears his heart on his sleeve, has as much fun as he possibly can, and is even prone to showing emotions such as panic very quickly. That is where Ben Beckman comes in. He offers a balance to Shanks' character by his more calm and discerning nature. Oda has previously mentioned that if Shanks is the light Beckman is the darkness.
The Portrayal Of Ben Beckman
When it comes to strength, Ben Beckman has been portrayed to be an incredibly strong pirate. For one, he is the official Vice Captain of the Red Hair Pirates and, since this crew draws inspiration from the Roger Pirates, Ben Beckman would naturally be compared to the right hand of the Pirate King, Silvers Rayleigh. Fans know for a fact that Rayleigh himself was the Dark King and an exceptionally powerful pirate, arguably on the same level as the likes of the Yonko themselves. Rayleigh has access to all Haki types and his skill as an elite swordsman is certainly nothing to scoff at either.
Similarly, Ben Beckman is the right-hand man of Shanks and he’s going to be an extremely powerful character as well. Among the Yonko right-hand men that fans have seen so far in the series, Ben Beckman is most likely going to be the strongest. This isn’t just because he is officially the Vice Captain and is thus paralleled to Rayleigh, but also because Ben Beckman is a character that appears much later in the story and, usually, these characters tend to be stronger than the ones that appeared before.

If that wasn’t enough, it is a canon fact that the officers of the Red Hair Pirates have made an incredibly high name for themselves in the One Piece world and they all boast a very high level of strength and bounties. They arethe most balanced Yonko crewinOne Pieceand that is proof of the fact that Beckman is not going to be weak.
Ben Beckman’s Haki
Of course, fans do not know of any user of Devil Fruit when it comes to the Red Hair Pirates and Ben Beckman is certainly not going to be an exception. Fans have already seen him fight on various occasions in the story, however, his true strength has never been revealed, which is something that he shares in common with the vast majority of his crew, including Shanks.
Beckman most definitely relies on Haki as his primary weapon. Given that he has just madehis way to the top with Haki alone, it is highly likely that he has refined this skill quite a lot. Fans can expect his Haki to be incredibly powerful and it wouldn’t be a stretch to assume that he has access to the Color of the Supreme King as well.
ForOne Piece Film Red, Oda wrote a 4 Billion Volume which revealed small facts about the members of the Red Hair Pirates. When speaking of Ben Beckman, Oda made sure to highlight that Beckman is quite powerful when it comes to Haki usage. He was seen using Haki bullets, and while that certainly is not special at all, Oda teased his Haki to be on the same level as that of the Admirals or, potentially, even stronger. Fans will most definitely get to see more of his Haki when the story moves forward and the Red Hair Pirates are involved in a major battle.
How Strong Is Ben Beckman?
Taking all things into consideration, fans can make a decent guess as to how strong Ben Beckman is. First of all, his strength can be considered to be around thesame level as the other Yonko First Commandersthat fans have seen so far. These would be the likes of Katakuri and King. However, at the same time, he also draws parallels to Rayleigh, who held the same position as him in the Roger Pirates. This also means that Beckman’s strength can be considered to be higher than that of the likes of Katakuri and King. Furthermore, he is an enemy that is showing up in the later phase of the story and that would also mean that he would have to do more to be more impressive.
The fact that he has openly stopped an Admiral in his tracks in the past suggests that he is around that level, however, much of that is still speculation. Fans do not know exactlyhow powerful Ben Beckman is, however, if Oda so wishes, he can make him just like the second coming of Silvers Rayleigh, just as Shanks is often considered to be the successor to Roger.
