OneOverwatch 2player in the right place at the right time managed to capture the moment they outsniped the enemy Widowmaker with Orisa’s javelin throw, spearing the sniper off of a rooftop from an impressive distance. The sandbox of different abilities inOverwatch 2saw plenty of changes alongside the recent launch of the sequel, bringing along changes to the kits and capabilities of several heroes in the cast.
Each ofOverwatch 2’s many characters are partly defined by their abilities, which make each hero unique and allow them to thrive in certain situations. Many heroes are effective at different ranges and players need to carefully manage the cooldowns on a hero’s standard abilities to succeed in fights. On top of a hero’s cooldown abilities, they also each have their own particularly powerful Ultimate ability, which players will need to save until the right moment in the heat of battle. Many heroes work well together due to the synergy of their abilities, while others serve as good counters to other characters. With the release ofOverwatch 2, however, players might find that some heroes' familiar abilities have been replaced with new ones. Orisa is a prime example of such a hero, whose old placeable barrier and Ultimate ability have been switched out with Javelin-based attacks.

A Reddit post from the user Antdxhkidd shows off the clipusing Orisa’s new javelin throw to great effect. The clip begins by showing the Orisa’s team blocking an advancing payload, with a pesky Widowmaker on the enemy team attempting to pick off the defenders. Peeking around the corner to chance a lucky javelin shot, the player manages to snipe the enemy sniper not only from a sizable distance, but also as the Widowmaker is jumping into the air. The creator of the clip is also sure to apply their own editing skills to add an extra touch of comedic effect to the play.
Other heroes also saw some tweaks to their abilities, too. Cassidy, for example, had his flashbang grenade changed in favor of a sticky magnetic grenade, andDoomfist was even completely changed from a Damage heroto that of a Tank, losing his Seismic Slam ability and instead gaining an ability called power block to protect himself from incoming damage. Several heroes have more recently received nerfs in response to community feedback throughout Season 1.
While fans have been happy to see characters such as Zarya, Sombra, and Sojourn receive penalties to their abilities, many fans remain irked by many of the other hero balancing issues seen so far. Whiletailoring to everyone in theOverwatch 2fanbase is beyond impossible, some players are still asking Blizzard to go back on the nerfs to some heroes such as Genji.
