On Reddit, aPokemonfan named itsagiraffeee showed their crocheted Lugia. Thoughcrochet plushes of different Pokemonhave been done before, Lugia’s design presented some unique challenges. According to the OP, they used plush yarn of various colors to stitch Lugia together, and they followed a pattern by a user named DerHaekelwurm to put together the plush. With white and various shades of blue as their yarn colors of choice, itsagiraffeee used felt to create Lugia’s eyes and some hot glue to attach them to the yarn. The OP then added that they created the Lugia plush as a gift for their sister-in-law’s 12th birthday.

The post from itsagiraffeee received over 340 upvotes in under a day on the r/pokemon subreddit. One comment praised the OP for making Lugia’s arms big, and another wanted to hug the plush Pokemon. When asked about the plush yarn used to craft Lugia together, the OP replied that the plush yarn tends to make for bigger plush dolls and that it was their favorite to work with when designing Lugia. While Lugia remains a popular Pokemon for fan artists to create new concepts for, such asParadox forms inspired byPokemon Scarlet and Violet, plush projects such as itsagiraffeee’s are a rarer sight. Nonetheless, Lugia has yet to appear inPokemon Scarlet and Violetat the time of writing.
