Pokemon Legends: Arceusadded the Fairy/Flying-type Enamorus to the legendary genies, also known as the Forces of Nature. It was previously a legendary Pokemon trio consisting of the Flying-type Tornadus, the Electric/Flying-type Thundurus, and the Ground/Flying-type Landorus. However, the genies have never been that popular, and the addition ofPokemon Legends: Arceus’Enamorusdidn’t do much to improve that.

However, it seems their lore could be tied to thelegendary quartet ofPokemon Scarlet and Violet. This obviously hasn’t been proven yet, but there have been a few rumors and a ton of speculation its legendaries are based on the Four Perils, which would be the opposite of the Forces of Nature’s Therian formes. It remains to be seen, of course, and it’s hard to say for sure whether a lore connection toPokemon Scarlet and Violetwould improve their popularity. However, one fan designed a cool Dark/Flying genie named Malevorus that could have certainly done this.

Twitter user HoopsandHipHop has been working on a “what if” YouTube series where they and an artist design new Pokemon for various legendary groups. The latest video took a look at theLake Trio of Sinnoh, the aforementioned Forces of Nature, and the Swords of Justice. While each Pokemon they design looks legit and would make great additions, it’s Malevorus that stands out. Malevorus is a Dark/Flying-type genie (which would technically make the Forces of Nature a group of five, or a quintet), and its design is based on the Yellow Dragon of the Four Guardians. Its therian forme is a direct call out to this, with it taking on a more direct appearance of the Yellow Dragon.

Fan designs of Pokemon are nothing new, with players even creating the evolutions of the newstarter Pokemon ofPokemon Scarlet and Violet(Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly), plenty of new forms and new Pokemon, and far more. It’s one aspect of the community that can be celebrated by all; after all, it stands to reason that a solid number of fans have imagined how Pokemon could be “fixed” or cooked up their own just for fun.

With recentleaks suggesting thatPokemon Scarlet and Violethas a total of 400 Pokemonin it, it’s not likely that fans will see the Forces of Nature in the base game. It’s more likely to focus on its own legendaries instead, but who knows what will happen in the future. Malevorus is obviously never going to be added (but it’s still a great design to appreciate), but the addition of Enamorus likely means Game Freak isn’t done with the Forces of Nature just yet.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violetrelease on November 18 for Nintendo Switch.
