Summary
A talentedPokemonfan online has shared their awesome design, which reimagines both Spearow and its evolution, Fearow, as if they were both prehistoric Pokemon. It’s common forPokemonfans to reimagine their favorite designs through unique artwork, and this is just the latest example of that.
Ever sincePokemonfirst appeared in 1996, the community for the franchise has continued to show why it is considered to be among the most creative groups online. All the time, there seems to be a new awesomePokemonfan creation impressing gamers online, and there seems to be no sign of this slowing down any time soon. These often include redesigns of popular Pokemon, to see what they would be like with a fresh coat of paint. Just recently, onePokemonfan designed baby versions of Legendary beasts, which was a unique sight.
Redditor KarielD shared their awesome Spearow and Fearow prehistoric designs, which they have dubbed “fossilmon.” Both designs make subtle changes to their original counterparts, and they seem to have sharper features in general. The designs appear to be part of a larger ongoing series - previously, thisPokemonfan also designed prehistoric versions for Pidgey and its evolutions. There’s a ton of potential with this going forward with many other Pokemon, and it’ll be interesting to see which evolutionary line they choose to tackle next.
Prehistoric Redesigns of Pokemon Spearow and Fearow
Both Spearow and its evolution, Fearow, were first introduced to thePokemonseries right at the very beginning, in Generation 1. As a result, fans have had almost three decades to become familiar with thePokemon, which has naturally made them a popular choice for many pieces of fan art out there. Earlier this year, onePokemonfan even created a new evolution for Spearow’s evolutionary line. These hypothetical designs are always extremely fascinating, as they show what fans themselves could do if they had more input in the franchise.
While it’s always great to see how players are redesigning classic Pokemon, it will be interesting to see how the community reacts to future designs. However, it seems that players have a considerable wait on their hands before any new Pokemon are released. A recentPokemonleak suggests that Generation 10 will be released in 2026, and while plans could certainly change in this regard, it would be extremely fast if it were to be released any earlier. Generation 9 began in 2022, so 2026 seems about right for a new set of Pokemon designs to be released.
