Coming fresh off of the start of its Season of Celebration event and today’s announcement thatmore Poke Balls are coming to PokeStopsthis holiday season,Pokemon GOhas been on a roll with new content for players and doesn’t seem to be stopping any time soon.
Ever sincePokemon: The First Moviedebuted in 1998, fans have come to expect theannual release of a Pokemon movie each year,and this year is no different.Pokemon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungleis slated to release on December 25 in Japan, and to promote the movie,Pokemon GOwill be holding a special limited-time event to celebrate the movie’s release.

The limited-time movie collaboration event contains a plethora of features forPokemon GOplayers to look forward to. Players will receive the chance to encounter Shiny Celebi,Jessie and James,a special Explorer Pikachu, and spawns featuring Pokemon that appear inPokemon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle.
Starting on Monday, December 14 at 8 am local time, players will be able to complete Special Research for the chance to encounter Shiny Celebi, in addition to the return of Jessie and James using different Shadow Pokemon. Special free avatar items inspired by Jessie and James will also be available in the Style Shop. From Monday, December 14 at 8 am to Monday, December 21 at 10 pm local time, a special Explorer Pikachu will be appearing in the wild, as well as appearing during December 15’s Pokemon Spotlight Hour.
From Monday, December 14 at 8 am to Thursday, December 17 at 10 pm local time, players will encounter more Pokemon featured in the new movie in the wild, in Raid Battles, and in 5 km Eggs. Additionally, players will have the chance to encounter Shiny Rufflet during this event as well. And finally, on December 25 from 8 am to 10 pm local time, Jessie and James will be appearing more frequently in their signature Meowth balloon.
This isn’t the first timePokemon GOhas held a collaboration event with the animated series, as just last month the game held itsfirst Animation Week celebration,featuring Special Research and spawns based on thePokemon Journeysanimated series. After a slow start upon its initial release,Pokemon GOhas found its footing in these regularly timed in-game events.
These days, it seems that there are different Pokemon appearing inPokemon GOevery week, which is fitting of a series containing almost 900 unique monsters. And with the addition ofa new generation of Pokemonto the game this week, it’s clear that there is still plenty of content for players to experience inPokemon GO.
