The nextPokemon Scarlet & VioletTera Raid battle event features two powerful Pokemon in Hydreigon and Dragapult. The two powerful pseudo-legendary Pokemon will be featured in four and five-star Tera Raids for a limited time.
Dragapult and Hydreigon are two of the most powerful Pokemon inPokemon Scarlet & Violet, and the pair can be used in a number of different ways based on their Tera Type. That makes this a great opportunity to stock up on these helpful Pokemon without having to worry about farming loads of Tera Shards to change their Tera Types down the road.

When is the Hydreigon and Dragapult Tera Raid Event?
The Hydreigon and Dragapult Tera Raid event will run across three days starting on January 6. The event runs across these exact times:
This is a great opportunity for players to pick up powerful versions of two of the strongest version-exclusive Pokemon in all ofPokemon Scarlet & Violet.Dragapult is aPokemon Violet-exclusive, while Hydreigon is normallyexclusive toPokemon Scarlet. That makes this compelling all on its own, but the fact that Hydreigon comes with a highly beneficial Tera Type makes this a can’t-miss event.
Players who can’t dedicate the time to grind for these Pokemon can still take advantage of this event. As with other limited-time events, players just need to connect to the internet inPokemon Scarlet & Violetin order to have the raid dens appear in their game. So long as the player doesn’t log in after the event ends, a new batch of event raid dens will appear at the start of each day indefinitely.
How to Counter Event Dragapult and Hydreigon
Go-to Tera Raid favorites includingAzumarill and Iron Hands will be strong counters to the event Dragapult and Hydreigon, so long as they have the move Belly Drum. This move has turned both into Pokemon that can one-shot many Tera Raid bosses.
Generally speaking, four andfive-star Tera Raid bossesare quite manageable relative to six-star Tera Raid battles. Dragapult and Hydreigon will be appearing with various types, so many different Pokemon will be viable.
Belly Drum Azumarillwill work particularly well against Hydreigon, as it resists or is immune to its dark and dragon-type attacks. Iron Hands with a good Tera Raid build can handle Dragapult’s moveset better than Azumarill due to its access to Thunderbolt. Players may want to use a TM to teach Iron Hands Brick Break, as Dragapult will use the moves Reflect and Light Screen.
