After already getting the specialAsh Cap Pikachu inSwordandShield, players can now get another popular version. This code is a reference to the Hoenn games being the first main Pokemon games to be on the Game Boy Advance back in the day.

For those unfamiliar with the Mystery Gift feature, it is fairly straightforward. Players simply need to go to the in-game menu inSwordorShield, then select Mystery Gift. From there, they will be prompted to input the code and then receive their Pikachu. While this feature is normallyreserved for special legendary Pokemon promotions, exceptions are always made for Pokemon like this. The code can only be redeemed once per account, but that doesn’t stop players from trading between multiple accounts.

This Pikachu might not bethe best for competitive Pokemon battling, but it is still a great collector item regardless. Any trainer who is trying to complete their Pokedex will surely want to snag this hat-wearing mouse, as well as the other seven. These different Pikachus don’t have separate Pokedex entries, since they are all the same species of Pokemon, but they are still unique.

With the Crown Tundra DLC on the way, players need to complete as much of the collecting as they can. Once the new areas and features are in the game, it might be difficult to leave the exciting new things to return to finishing some of the older content. From Dynamax multiplayer to theSwordandShieldStar Tournament—where players battle alongside gym leaders—it looks like the new DLC will add a ton of content to what is already a giant game.

The Crown Tundra will feature many returning Pokemon, such as Dragonite, Metagross, and Garchomp. In addition, it will havenew Galarian forms of several Pokemon, including the legendary birds and even Slowking. The DLC officially releases October 22, so trainers need to complete their Pokedex, train up their favorite teams, and be ready to hit the snow.
