With the highly-anticipated debut ofLeague of Legends' first animated series,Arcane, set for the coming weekend, Riot Games has looked for every opportunity to promote Runeterra’s first full-fledged animated series. Several trailers have been released for the series following the Piltover sheriffs Caitlyn and Vi and their battles with the maniacal Jinx and Riot recently announced aLeagueevent celebratingArcane’s release. Now, Riot is partnering withPUBG Mobileto bring theArcanecelebration to a whole new audience.
PUBG Mobilehas been no stranger to unique and wild collaborations throughout the game’s history. The mobile shooter that helped to popularize the battle royale genre has often collaborated with the biggest pop culture events. The game has previously featured several crossovers with popular movies and series likeGodzilla vs. KongandThe Walking Deadand the game has even featured cosmetics based on the viral Baby Shark videos. Now,PUBG Mobilehas joined together to bring some ofLeague of Legends' most iconic characters into the mobile title.

PUBG Mobileannounced Tuesday through the game’s official Twitter account that the game would feature a crossover event withLeague of LegendsandArcaneset to begin later this month. The event is set to start on November 16th and will seeLeague of Legendschampions Jinx, Vi, Caitlyn, and Jayce all added to the battle royale shooter. While little information was given on how the gameplay of the characters will translate intoPUBG Mobile, the short teaser trailer splicedscenes fromArcane’s stylized trailerswithPUBG Mobile’s cinematic CGI.
Riot Games has been heavily promoting the upcomingArcanewith some of the company’s first forays into outside collaborations. In another battle royale crossover, a notableFortnitedataminer revealed thatLeague’sJinx would be coming toFortniteas a skin in the near future.League of Legends' own RiotX Arcane event will also feature a several weeks-long celebration of the series' premiere packed with freeLeague of Legendsskins, a visual update for Caitlyn, and plenty more.
Riot Games isn’t the only company in this ambitious collaboration making ventures into the animated market. Krafton Inc. similarly announced earlier this year thatPUBG Battlegroundswould bereceiving its own animated series. ThePUBGanimated series was revealed in July and was announced to be directed by Adi Shankar, the producer behind the popular Netflix adaptation ofCastlevania.PUBGhas been one of the most popular games since its release in 2017 and the collaboration with Riot Games should bring even more new fans into the game.
