After a disastrous performance from its predecessor, it was clear thatWWE 2K22needed to not only succeed, but do so in a big way. Luckily, and perhaps surprisingly,WWE 2K22has had a much better reception than the previous game.
The game itself is arguably one of the most ambitious in the franchise’s history. With over 160 wrestlers in the base roster, the ability to create custom wrestlers for normal play and MyRise mode, and tons ofcelebrities coming toWWE 2K22in future DLC, the potential for dynamic and unique gameplay is huge.

More importantly, not only can players create custom wrestlers, but the amount of customization possible is massive. These diverse options have already led to the creation ofBatman and Peacemaker inWWE 2K22, showing off the system’s near-limitless potential. However, instead of going with comic book heroes, one player decided to reimagine one of their favorite video game characters as a wrestler.
RDR2’s Arthur Morgan, A WWE 2K22 Wrestler
That character was none other thanRed Dead Redemption 2’s Arthur Morgan, one of the most iconic Rockstar characters as well as the main character of the game. The creator of Arthur’s custom wrestler was Reddit user HectorBarbossaTheGod; apparently, HectorBarbossaTheGod is already well-known for theirWWE 2K22creations. They have already created characters fromThe Walking Dead,God of War, andGrand Theft Auto 5. Though not as wacky as the fan-madeJoe Biden and Eminem characters inWWE 2K22, the character models of these creations are unbelievably accurate, showing the depth of the character creation system as well as the quality.
Known for his witty dialogue and fist-fighting abilities, Arthur’s character is perfect for the wrestling ring. Creating his persona would be fairly easy, as he is already quite a dynamic character. For example, his entrance could be him entering on a horse whilemusic fromRed Dead Redemption 2plays in the background. His signature moves could include tying opponents up with a lasso before dropping them through a table, or perhaps he could hit opponents with a pistol while the referee isn’t looking. Perhaps HectorBarbossaTheGod could even take the story a step further and add Micah in as Arthur’s rival in the ring. It would certainly make for quite the cage match, and manyRed Dead Redemption 2players would probably love to see Micah take a hit from a steel chair.
Wrestling matchups aside, HectorBarbossaTheGod’s Arthur model is fantastic. It is clear that they favored the more clean-shaven version of Arthur, as the character model is a near-perfect redesign of the character. WithcustomWWE 2K22characters able to be transferredamong players, HectorBarbossaTheGod’s creations can also be downloaded, allowing anyone to throw down as Arthur Morgan.
