SoonGrand Theft Autofans will be able to revisit the PS2-eraGTAgames withGrand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition, which is bringing the classic titles to modern platforms withGTA 5-style controlsand revamped graphics. And while some fans may be growing impatient forGrand Theft Auto 6, it seems that there could very well be more remasters in their future to in the meantime, as a remaster ofGrand Theft Auto 4is rumored to be in development.
This information comes from RalphsValve, a relatively new Twitter account who has mostly been sharing supposedly leaked information on theCall of Dutyfranchise. Some of the claims made by RalphsValve about the 2022Call of Dutygame were later corroborated by more reliable sources, so they do have a bit more legitimacy than other random “leakers” online. Even so, fans should take what they say with a grain of salt, as they’ve already backtracked on some of their claims, likeCall of Duty2022 having aP.T.-style mode.

In any case, RalphsValve latest claims have nothing to do withCall of Duty, but withGrand Theft Auto 4. RalphsValve tweeted an image ofGrand Theft Auto 4art, claiming that the remaster is going to come in 2023. TheGrand Theft Auto 4remaster will reportedly release for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X, with no Switch version mentioned. If RalphsValve is to be believed, theGTA 4remaster will come with theEpisodes from Liberty CityDLC bundled in.
The only other piece of information that RalphsValve shared is that theGrand Theft Auto 4remaster, if it does exist, will be skipping multiplayer and focusing on single-player only. As some may recall,Grand Theft Auto 4had online multiplayer modes, though nothing on the scale ofGTA 5’sGrand Theft Auto Onlinecomponent. Removing multiplayer is not an uncommon practice in video game remasters, so it’s easy to believe that would happen if Rockstar is genuinely remastering the game.
While there are definitely fans who would want to seeGrand Theft Auto 4remastered in the same vein asGTA Trilogy, others may be frustrated by the lack of news regardingGrand Theft Auto 6. The latest rumors suggest thatGTA 6is in development helland it will likely be years before fans even see the game, let alone play it. However, nothing official has been said at the time of this writing, and soGTA 6’s status is up in the air at this point.
It’s unclear when fans will get news onGrand Theft Auto 6, but they do know what Rockstar’s next releases will be. AfterGTA Trilogylaunches this week, 2022 will see the release of thenext-gen versions ofGrand Theft Auto 5andGrand Theft Auto Online, soGTAfans will have plenty to play, even if they may be growing tired of theGTA 5at this point.
