Dragon Ball Z: Kakarothas been out for a few weeks now, and many players are now probably nearing the end of the game. Of course, while the game offers plenty to do after completing the main campaign, some are now wondering what Bandai Namco plans to do withDragon Ball Z: Kakarotmoving forward and how post-launch DLCs will expand the game’s story.

Right now, a season pass forDragon Ball Z: Kakarotis already available in one of the game’s special editions or as a separate purchase. A brief description of the season pass reveals that it will include 2 original episodes and one new story. However, the exact contents ofthe season pass are still under a cloud of mystery, given that Bandai Namco’s blurb is a bit vague and doesn’t really tell players what they are purchasing.

Still, one strong possibility is that the new story that will be introduced in the Season Pass will be an expansion of a story arc that is already present inDBZ: Kakarot. On the other hand, the two original episodes will probably be other storylines that were not tackled inDBZ: Kakarot, given that the game ended with the Buu Saga. Of course, when speculating on what these two original episodes will touch on, there are so many things to consider especially when looking at the widerDragon Balluniverse. However, one of the strongest possibility here is thatDBZ: Kakarot’sseason pass will feature the events ofDragon Ball Super.

Several days ago, dataminers uncovered two playableDragon Ball Supercharacters withinDBZ: Kakarot’sgame files: Beerus, the God of Destruction, and Whis, his angel attendant. Of course, their existence withinDBZ: Kakarotpoints at the strong possibility that the upcoming season pass for the game would likely feature events fromDragon Ball Super.

Just likeDragon Ball Zthat contained four major sagas,Dragon Ball Superconsists of the God of Destruction Beerus Saga, Golden Frieza Saga, Universe 6 Saga, Future Trunks Saga, and Universal Survival Saga. Given this massive amount of content, it wouldn’t be likely for Bandai Namco to just dump all of these story sagas into a single episode inDBZ: Kakarot’sseason pass. What’s likely to happen is that the entire story-arc ofDragon Ball Superwould be divided into two sections, which could account for the two original episodes that Bandai Namco revealed as part ofDBZ: Kakarot’sseason pass.

However, dataminers also discovered files within the game’s code that suggest a DLC based on the original movies featuringBroly could also be included inDBZ: Kakarot’sseason pass. If this is the case, then it is possible that the two original story episodes in the season pass will feature either the original Broly movies or the events ofDragon Ball Super. At this point, it is difficult to speculate which of the two Bandai Namco will prioritize for the season pass, especially since data miners found evidence that supports both possibilities.

It is worth pointing out that all of this is under the assumption thatDBZ: Kakarotwill only have one season pass. Given the massive amount of content that Bandai Namco could introduce as an expansion, it wouldn’t be unlikely for the developer to releasemultiple season passes forDBZ: Kakarot. This gives Bandai Namco more room to further expand the game’s content, and could even allow for even more storylines under theDragon Balluniverse to be introduced in DBZ: Kakarot, making it the ultimateDragon Ballgame.

Although Bandai Namco still hasn’t confirmed what the season pass will bring toDBZ: Kakarot, it is not entirely impossible for it to include the events ofDragon Ball Super, especially since dataminers have already uncovered data that supports this theory. The only logical possibility that could debunk this speculation is if Bandai Namco intends to releasea full-fledgedDragon Ball Supergamethat could jump off the success ofDragon Ball Z: Kakarot. Despite this, whether it be in the form of a DLC expansion or a separate game, it appears likely thatDragon Ball Superwill be having its own video game adaptation, one way or another.
