Red Dead Redemption 2has recently appeared as a Switch game on Brazil’s rating board. The information was unveiled by “Necro” Felipe, a journalist from the Brazilian gaming outlet Universo Nintendo. According to Felipe, the Brazilian ratings board’s website listed a Switch version ofRDR2among the existing ones (PS4, Xbox One, and PC), which could indicate a not yet announced upcoming release.

While this does not necessarily mean any confirmation that the game will be out for Nintendo’s gaming device, the move would make sense, especially considering that the Switch received a port of the firstRed Dead Redemptionrecently. What remains to be seen, however, is how wellRed Dead Redemption 2could run on Switch, as the game has impressive visuals. The recentSwitch port forMortal Kombat 1was criticizedby fans, for instance, as it was launched with poor graphics and several visual glitches, and Rockstar likely would want to avoid a similar situation.

Whether or notRed Dead Redemption 2may be coming to Switch, this is far from the only recent relevant news for fans of the franchise. A few days ago, leaked documents from the Microsoft vs. FTC trial revealed thatRDR2may be coming to current-gen consoles, including Xbox Series X/S and PS5. While the Western adventure is already playable on these consoles, it runs as a last-gen port, as no native versions are currently available. With proper current-gen versions ofRDR2, gamers would probably gain access to higher resolutions and improved graphics. In both cases, however, these are not official announcements, so fans should probably wait until Rockstar unveils official information before getting too hyped.

Red Dead Redemption 2is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
