Sackboy: A Big Adventureis over a year old, but that hasn’t stopped Sumo Digital from adding more costumes for players to enjoy. Just in time for the holidays,Sackboy: A Big Adventurehas gotten some adorable Christmas-themed costumes that are bound to make any play session more festive.

Although Sackboy’s customization was prominently known back in theLittleBigPlanetdays (withLittleBigPlanetandLittleBigPlanet 2’s servers being shut down), customization is still an essential part of the experience inSackboy: A Big Adventure. As inLittleBigPlanet, players can customize their Sackboy with various costume pieces for the head, body, arms, legs, and so many other components. This year, Sumo Digital has given players many PlayStation-related costumes, includingskins based onThe Last of Us: Part 2’s Ellie and Abby,Returnal’s Selene, and a handful of outfits fromRatchet and Clank: Rift Apart.

Christmas is just around the corner, and Sumo Digital has released some special skins forSackboy: A Big Adventureto celebrate. Available for free right now on the PlayStation Store is a jolly Santa costume and a cute Christmas Tree costume. With these costumes come some special emotes, with the former giving Sackboy a bell to ring to a “festive favorite” as Sumo Digital puts it in the skin’s description, and the latter letting Sackboy make it snow and create a winter wonderland. The lastcrossoverSackboy: A Big Adventure had was withFall Guys, the game receiving Rookie and Fairycorn costumes, and Sackboy himself going toFall Guys.

It has been an important year for Sackboy betweenLittleBigPlanetandA Big Adventure. The closure of the PS3 servers forLittleBigPlanetandLittleBigPlanet 2was devastating for many, as there were players still creating levels in those games to that day. Because of this,LittleBigPlanet 3received content from those first two gamesin order to give players more tools and resources to continue building in the most recent game.LittleBigPlanet 3allows players to play levels created in the first two games.

Sackboy: A Big Adventurereceiving new skins is important for the game’s longevity, especially a year from its launch. Without the same level creation tools as the traditionalLittleBigPlanettitles, player costumes are the only major ways to keep players coming back. Sumo Digital andPlayStation have launched a tournament series forSackboy: A Big Adventure, bringing custom obstacle courses for players to complete as quickly as possible, but not much other new content has come. A couple of free skins, then, are a nice treat for players looking to revisit the fun platforming game.

Sackboy: A Big Adventureis available now on PS4 and PS5.
