It also provides a good defense against Dark damage, though it isn’t as strong in this regard as the Codex armor.
The Umbral Set can be crafted from materials collected by defeating Vodin Tenebre, The Lurking Shadow, and his followers in Dreadstone Peak, the fourth zone of the game.While the Codex Set is better in many regards, the Umbral Set will likely provide more defense against common mob enemies. The Diabolical Set is the best light armor in the game, and it’s not even close. The Diabolical Set will provide peerless resistance and is even on par with some of the heavy armors in terms of resistance. It’s a good bit heavier than the likes of the Umbral Set and the Codex Set, so it’s not exactly built for speed and lightweight characters. It defends well against Physical, Fire, and Dark damage, but it is less ideal for Cold, Poison, and Light.

The Royal Set is the best armorinSalt and Sacrificein termsof resistance stats. It is a set of heavy armor that is lighter than the Earthstone Set and has better Physical resistance to boot. The tradeoff is that the Royal Set has lower Poise and isvery much a late-game acquisition.
The Royal Set isn’t crafted. Instead,it is acquired during the Royal Retinue questline that can be started after finishing Bol Gerahn. However, the set isn’t given untilafter getting the rune that takes you to the Elder Copse.At this point,return to the Royal Retinue and you will find a treasure chest at their location.
