Beloved vigilante detectives Sam and Max are coming to PlayStation in remasters of their games,Sam & Max Save the WorldandSam & Max Beyond Time and Space. Many players are excited to seeSam & Maxcoming to PlayStation for the first time and with improved resolution, colors, and animation quality.
Recently, it was revealed that these two remasters were coming to PS5 and PS4 on September 29. In these games, players control the character of Sam, a detective, as he goes around solving different puzzles and problems with chaotic and sometimes hilariously far-fetched solutions. The games feature dialogue trees with NPCs that branch into different story paths, allowing for levels of replayability.

Sam is a six-foot dog detective with a love for justice and Max is a hyperkinetic rabbit-like creature with a taste for chaos. Together, they’re the Freelance Police, a unique comedy duo that has been entertaining fans for decades. InSam & Max Save the World(aka Season One), the duo goes up against the media, the mafia, and even the Government regarding a mind-control scheme involving washed-up child stars.Sam & Max Save the Worldgetting a remasteris known information, as it was announced back in 2020 for Nintendo Switch and PC, but the fact that it is coming to PlayStation for the first time is good news for PlayStation owners.
InSam & Max: Beyond Time and Space(aka Season Two), Sam & Max go head-to-head against Santa Clause, race against the clock with an active volcano, and even encounter a vampire.Sam & Max Beyond Time and Spacegetting a remasterwas also previously revealed, as it was announced last year for Nintendo Switch, PC, and Xbox One, but it is exciting to see it come to new consoles as well.
In addition to these remasters, thelatest installment in this franchise isSam and Max: This Time It’s Virtualand it is a VR game that released last year. With all theSam & Maxnews in the media right now, many fans are likely excited to hear about any plans that Telltale Games may have for a new, bigger project in the near future.
In addition, Telltale Games is on a hot streak, most recently with theGamescom gameplay reveal forThe Expanse,which had a lot of fans excited. Surely, PlayStation players will be excited to get their hands on the remastered versions of theSam and Maxgames as well.
