Sayu is the first 4-star character from Inazuma. This little ninja wields the largest weapon in the game; the Claymore. As for her vision, she’s blessed by Barbatos with Anemo. This makes the Shuumatsuban Ninja the second 4-star Anemo character inGenshin Impact.
As an Anemo character, Sayu will provide a lot of utility for the team. However, her main role is not for team buffs like Sucrose, but rather for healing like Jean. The answer is complicated since Sayu’s best artifacts vary based on her role on the battlefield. For example, Sayu’s healer build can target only the active character or her entire team. Based on that,Genshin Impact players must decide to either give her Elemental Mastery or ATK% stats. This complication only adds to how effective Sayu can be within her team composition, and with new versions, come new options tobuild Sayu in Genshin Impact.
Sayu’s Talent Overview
As a support, Sayu will not be used for her normal attack. Instead, Sayu will utilize her Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst to support her team.
For her Elemental Skill, Sayu will roll into a ball and attack the enemy. This skill has a hold and a tap version.The tap version should not be usedas players can use her hold skill instead. By using her hold skill for less than one second, Sayu’s skill will go on a 6.2 seconds cooldown. While her tap skill has a 6 seconds cooldown. A small price in cooldown for more damage.
For her Elemental Burst, Sayu summons a Daruma that can heal the team or attack the enemy. Initially, this Elemental Burst is restricted by the team’s HP. However, after obtaining her C1, this restriction is nullified. Sayu’s Elemental Burst’s healingscales with her attack and will only heal the active character. Other than with her Elemental Burst, Sayu will alsoheal the whole team when she triggers a Swirl reaction while on the field. This time, the healing scales with Elemental Mastery.
Because of this, players have to knowwhat kind of healing they want from Sayu.For a single heal, building on her attack is better. But for team healing, Sayu should be built on Elemental Mastery.However, if players have their Sayu at C6, then Elemental Mastery is better for both cases.

For a healer Sayu, there are many options players can opt for. People can either use a 4-piece set or combine a 2-piece with another 2-piece.

Rainslasher is one of Sayu’sbest weapons inGenshin Impact. She can easily benefit from its substat since Rainslasher offers Elemental Mastery.
Makhaira Aquamarine
Makhaira Aquamarine grants Sayu the ability to have more buffs for her team. TheGenshin ImpactClaymorehas an Elemental Mastery substat and its passive converts the wielder’s Elemental Mastery into ATK. On top of that, 30% of this bonus ATK is also granted to the entire team, making it an excellent weapon for a support Sayu.
Favonius Greatsword or Sacrificial Greatsword
The otherbest options for Sayu are the Sacrificial Greatswordand Favonius Greatsword. With Energy Recharge as their substat, these Claymores are effective options for Sayu. Favonius is great if Sayu is built on Critical Rate, while Sacrificial will reset Sayu’s Elemental Skill cooldown, which will allow Sayu to spin and roll even more.
Katsuragikiri Nagamasa
Katsuragikiri Nagamasa is one ofGenshin Impact’sforgeable weapons. With an Energy Recharge substat and a passive that further regenerate energy, Katsuragikiri Nagamasa will greatly help Sayu to use her Elemental Burst often.
Skyward Pride or Wolf’s Gravestone
Both of these weapons are 5-star. Skyward Pride will help Sayu with the Energy Recharge substat, while Wolf’s Gravestone will increase her attack and offer a buff for the whole team.
Lithic Blade or Royal Greatsword
Lithic Blade is very niche because Sayu needs to be in ateam of Liyue characters. However, even without its passive-active, Lithic Blade is a decent option for her. Both Lithic Blade and Royal Greatsword increase Sayu’s attack from their substat.
