Tripwire Interactive’s gloriously ridiculous action-RPGManeaterhas garnered a decent following since its release, especially since it came to Xbox Game Pass in May. Between the novel upgrade system with its visible changes to the playable shark character and its enjoyably silly story, told with tongue firmly in cheek, many players hoped for more new content to come so they could continue terrorizing Port Clovis. It would seem those prayers have been answered, and in characteristically absurd manner.
The open-world chomp-em-up puts the player in the fins of a young bull shark hell-bent on revenge after her mother’s death. So far, so standard, butManeatermanaged to tap into a healthy well of whimsy even if it didn’t always hit the mark. The new DLC,Truth Quest, looks set to continue that trajectory once it arrives next month.

WhenManeater’s new DLC was announcedon April Fool’s Day this year, some were wary of a trap. But it’s official:Truth Questis landing on June 30, 2025, bringing with it plenty of new content as well as the returning voice talent ofRick and Morty’s Chris Parnell. According to a press release from Tripwire Interactive,Truth Quest"will take players down the rabbit hole of dark secrets and conspiracies surrounding Port Clovis and the Naval Wildlife Organization (NWO)," and will star the shark protagonist and Parnell’s conspiracy theorist character Trip Westhaven.
Fans of the original game can expect to find a brand new region to explore, along with a new set of evolutions and a raised level cap. But those of a more inquisitive nature may be more intrigued by the promise of some answers to some ofManeater’s lingering questions. Parnell’s character seems dead set on getting to the bottom of how and why the shark is able to grow and evolve in such a unique way, so hopefully anyone similarly puzzled will find their curiosity sated.
Truth Questlooks to be offering more ofthe same awesome and ridiculous things to do as inManeaterso fans will know what to expect, but Tripwire will also soon be offering a free “pilot episode” designed to give anyone a taste of the new content, featuring some of the new objectives and shedding some light on a couple of the mysteries at play. Shark fans should keep an eye out for its upcoming release across all its platforms on August 31, retailing at $14.99.
Maneateris available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
