Skyrimturns 10 years old next month. Released in November of 2011, the game features a huge open world full of places to explore and enemies to defeat. To aid players in battle,Skyrimincludes numerous types of magic spellsand weapons and magic spells to use against enemies. One of these iconic weapon categories is the dagger.
Amongst the many differenttypes of weapons inSkyrim, the dagger is one of the most agile. What the short blade lacks in damage, it makes up for in speed and stamina. In addition, this one-handed weapon can be duel-wielded, adding to its usefulness in close-quarters combat. With many different types of daggers found throughout the expansive world, it’s no wonder that many gamers have come to love these nimble weapons. Recently, one fan decided to sculpt replicas of some of the most famous daggers found in the game.

In a Reddit post, a user known as Mads_five shared a picture of a group of dagger replicas fromSkyrim. The image contained replicas of 5 different daggers: Mehrunes’ Razor, Elven Dagger, Dwarven Dagger, Daedric Dagger, and Glass Dagger. Each of these designs was expertly crafted, including many of the fine details found on the actual daggers seen inSkyrim. One impressive aspect of the sculptures was the paint job. The artist managed to use shades of green, brown, and gray to create a weathered appearance to the daggers, enhancing the realism of the designs.
Mads_five revealed that the replicas were hand-sculpted out of EVA foam. While the artist started with theDaedricdagger, they eventually made 4 more designs after getting “carried away.” Unfortunately for those interested in purchasing a replica of these iconicSkyrimdaggers, Mads_five says they aren’t selling. According to the creator, the process of sculpting the daggers took a long time to finish. However, they recommended that those interested in purchasing a replica dagger check out ArsynalProps on Etsy, another talented artist.
Many in theSkyrimcommunity on Reddit liked these foam daggers created by Mads_five. With over 5,200 upvotes in less than one day, the consensus among fans is that the artist perfectly captured the iconic look of the blades. In addition, many were amazed by the level of detail on display, noting that the daggers looked like they were crafted out of steel instead of foam. Others suggested additional daggers for the creator to sculpt, such asthe Blade of Woe.
This is just one of many creations shown off by the community. In addition to these foam daggers, anotherSkyrimfan made a replica ofMehrunes’ Razor using magnets. With many more daggers left to sculpt, it will be interesting to see which weapons Mads_five decides to make next.
