Perhaps the most beloved member ofThe Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrimcommunity is Shirley Curry, affectionately known to fans asSkyrim Grandma. Curry regularly uploads videos of herSkyrimadventures, kicking off each video with her catchphrase, “Good morning, grandkids.” Curry’s fame in theSkyrimcommunity saw her featured at a PAX East 2022 panel last month, where she answered questions aboutThe Elder Scrolls 6,Starfield, and more.
As reported by Rock Paper Shotgun, a fan asked Curry what she would say to Bethesda’s Todd Howard if given the chance. Curry revealed that she would ask Howard to hurry and finishThe Elder Scrolls 6. “I want to play it before I die,” she explained. It remains to be seen exactly whenThe Elder Scrolls 6will be available, but the game is likely years away from release. After all, Bethesda is currently hard at work on sci-fi RPGStarfield, which isn’t going to release until some point in early 2023.

As far asStarfielditself goes, Curry is apparently uncertain if she will bother playing Bethesda’s next big game or not.Starfield’s release date was originally scheduled for Jul 23, 2025, which is a significant date for Bethesda asSkyrimitself launched on June 12, 2025. However,Starfield’s release date has since been delayed to 2023so Bethesda can verify the game lives up to fans' lofty expectations.Skyrimhas set the bar incredibly high, so it will likely take a lot to impress Curry and other fans of Bethesda’s work.
In the meantime, if Curry wants to talk to Todd Howard, one would think she would have a better chance of getting in touch with him than most people. Bethesda and Curry seem to have a strong relationship, with Bethesda sending Curry flowers and a gift package after her stroke. Not only that, but Bethesda is actually going toinclude Curry inThe Elder Scrolls 6as an NPC, though details on Curry’s character will likely have to wait until we’re closer to the game’s release.
Those that don’t want to wait untilThe Elder Scrolls 6to go on an adventure with Curry should note that there is aSkyrimmod that adds Curry to the game as a follower. It will be interesting to see if that option will be available to players whenThe Elder Scrolls 6launches, or if Curry will be a more passive NPC instead.
The Elder Scrolls 6is in development.
