Rumors of aResident Evil 3remake have been swirling since Capcom launchedResident Evil 2to huge sales and widespread critical acclaim. Many are expecting Capcom to reveal the game at The Game Awards 2019, especially now that official cover art for the unannounced title has leaked online thanks to the PlayStation Store. The leakedResident Evil 3images give fans their first look at the new designs for Jill Valentine, Carlos Oliveira, and the titular monster Nemesis. However, not everyone is impressed with the new look for Nemesis.
In response to theResident Evil 3remake cover art leak, some fans have criticized Capcom’s new design for Nemesis. While it appears to be very similar to the way Nemesis looked in the original PS1 game, there are some changes. For example, Nemesis now has a nose, and the staples that used to hold his face together are less prominent. Nemesis also has longer, whiter teeth, with gums that aren’t quite as exposed as they were in the original design. Furthermore, Nemesis appears to have “caution” warning signs attached to his body.

It’s clear by the reactions online that someResident Evil 3fans are disappointed with the new look for Nemesis, but others are happy with it. Some fans have said that Nemesis looks even scarier with these new details, though we’ll need to see him in action before we can make any judgment calls.
It will be interesting to see if there are any changes to Nemesis from a gameplay standpoint as well. It’s possible that Capcom will make Nemesis behave more likeMr. X fromResident Evil 2, who would had more freedom in stalking the player than any otherResident Evilmonster before him.
Luckily, more information on Nemesis in theResident Evil 3remake should come sooner rather than later. As previously mentioned, many are expecting the game to be officially announced at The Game Awards 2019 on December 12, and if not then, atJump Festa 2020, which takes place from December 21 to 22 in Chiba, Japan. It’s possible Capcom will officially announce theResident Evil 3remake in another way as well, but the art leak on the PlayStation Store does indicate that an announcement is coming very soon.
