FollowingSpider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’s theatrical release, fans have been speculating about the different Spider-People in the sequelSpider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. While much of the speculation naturally centers around different iterations of Peter Parker, Miles Morales, and Miguel O’Hara, some wonder what alternate versions of Gwen Stacy might look like.

In mostSpider-Manuniverses,Gwen Stacy is a friend and love interestof Peter Parker. First introduced inThe Amazing Spider-Man #31in 1965, Gwen usually occupies a similar space as Uncle Ben in Peter Parker’s story - her death informs how he lives. Over the years, Gwen has been killed many ways by several villains; recently, the character was given new life inSpider-Gwen, which released its first issue in 2015. In these comics, Peter Parker is the one who tragically dies, and Gwen Stacy is the one who gets bitten by a radioactive spider and must live with the guilt of a friend’s death. This is the GwenSpider-Versefans have gotten to see shine and the one who has invited speculation about her multiversal variants.

WhileGwen Stacy is a unique characterin many ways, one of the unique pieces of her character is her suit. Rather than the traditional red, blue, and black, her suit is primarily white with pink spider webs and light blue ballet shoes. The other distinct difference is the hood she pulls over her head, which gives her an identifiable silhouette that sets her apart from other Spider-People. Imagining what that suit could look like under different circumstances, Reddit useru/SeherAydoslucreated images of Gwen’s suit that took inspiration from Miles' and Miguel’s suits.

Both re-imaginings keep Gwen’s signature silhouette, focusing instead on incorporating the colors of Miles andMiguel O’Hara’s Spider-Man suits. That being said, they’re both easily identifiable as Miles' and Miguel’s suits - Miles' features his spray paint-style spider logo while Miguel’s features his long bracers and narrow eyeholes. Both designs blend aspects of Gwen’s suit seamlessly with those of Miles and Miguel.

The art is most likely the result of fans wondering what other Spider-Gwens in the multiverse look like - a question worth asking. As a newer character, Spider-Gwen hasn’t had as many iterations as Peter Parker, or even as many as Miles Morales, who’s only existed four more years than Spider-Gwen. While it’s unlikely fans will get to see a Miguel O’Hara or Miles Morales-styled Spider-Gwen inSpider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller have confirmed that they’ll be treated tonew versions of Gwen Stacy.
