Star Wars Jedi: Survivorgets a T for Teen rating from the ESRB, with the summary discussing the game using a lightsaber to “slash and break” enemies, potentially stress-inducing cries of pain, and some slight swear words. Overall, it’s a pretty straightforward rating that anyone who playedCal Kestis' first journey in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Orderwould come to expect.
There is a lot of anticipation around its sequel, though. Set five years after the first game,Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s Cal Kestis still finds himself on the run from the Empire, as its iron fist on the galaxy gets tighter and tighter. This “outlaw Jedi,” as described by the ESRB, must use everything he can to survive, which is highlighted throughnew gameplay shown ofStar Wars Jedi: Survivor, new story elements that have been teased, and so on.

The ESRB Rating can be seen, in full, below, but it describes Cal Kestis using his Force Powers to explore new environments and alien planets. It may be a bit reductive for clarification purposes, but it also denotesStar Wars Jedi: Survivoras using “melee-style combat.” It is further described as fast-paced, “with cries of pain, impact sounds, and large explosions,” and it lists enemies such as alien creatures, droids, and humanoid enemies. For anyone looking for any particular insight, there’s not much to go on here unlike some ESRB ratings, but it does say “some sequences depict characters getting impaled through the chest.”
This could be a reference to amajor character death inStar Wars Jedi: Survivor, but the plurality thereof would also suggest that it is just some finisher of some sort. The ESRB rating ends by highlighting some swear words that appear in the game, which is incredibly tame compared to plenty of other games. All in all, it does seem Respawn Entertainment gets the T rating it wants and doesn’t push that envelope.
BothStar Wars Jedi: Survivorand its predecessorFallen Orderhave a T for Teen rating, specifically for mild language and violence.Star Wars Jedi: Survivorseems to be embracing the darker periodof the Empire’s rule, but fans should expect any major or mature themes out of it nonetheless.
