In their third playthrough ofStardew Valley, Reddit user lobaby shared their latest realization about Leah, and it has the community talking. The Redditor shared a screenshot of the game featuring the NPC talking about her ex with a caption stating they never knew “Leah was gay.” However, this isn’t entirely true. As one comment points out, the gender of Leah’s ex is always the same as the player’s. Still, this is a realization about Leah that many fans are just now learning about because of the post.

As one of the sixStardew Valleybachelorettes, Leah is a romanceable option regardless of what gender the player is. In fact, each of the game’s bachelors and bachelorettes are romance options regardless of what gender the player chooses to begin the game. With Leah, however, the gender of her ex just happens to change depending on the player.

In retrospect, it’s easy to see why players are just now discovering this detail about Leah. In order to encounter this moment of dialogue, players are required to advance their relationship with Leah far enough to where she feels comfortable opening up about her past. Not to mention, it would require multiple playthroughs with different gender selections at the beginning of the game.

While every character has their own unique charms, Leah is widely considered to be one of thebest romance options inStardew Valley. Not only is the artistic bachelorette easy to get to know, but Leah’s story is considered to be quite engaging, and it eventually leads to an encounter with her ex. Obviously, player choice limits what events can and will take place, lendingStardew Valleyto multiple playthroughs for gamers who want the completionist experience.
