Starships serve as the primary and sole means of transportation inStarfield, and they are essential for exploring the vast universe and uncovering new planets. However, the game is not generous with the number of ships that players can own at one time. Despite the expansive open-world map,Starfieldfans find themselves with a limited spacecraft garage, capable of accommodating only a specific number of vessels.
This guide clarifies the ship ownership limit inStarfield,while shedding light on exceptions that may grant fortunate players the ability to exceed the standard allowed number.
Maximum Owned Ship Limit
InStarfield,players can own up to ten ships at once. When this limit is reached, a notification will inform them that they have reached the maximum allowed number of ships and that to acquire additional starships, they mustsell at least one of their current vessels.
There isone exception to the ship ownership limit. When players receive aspacecraft as a quest reward, they can add it to their inventory without any restrictions, regardless of the number of ships they already possess.
Players can have only one active ship at any given time. However, the active ship (i.e., the one they are currently piloting) does not necessarily have to be their designated Home Ship.
Unregistered Ship Limit
The limit for unregistered vessels is the same as for registered ones.Players can accumulate only ten unregistered shipsbefore reaching the cap. However, there is no restriction onthe number of ships they can stealand utilize as long as they remain unregistered. It’s important to note that newly stolen vessels might be removed from the inventory in this scenario.
For players to ensure that a captured starship remains in their possession, they must register it and, for extra security,designate it as their Home Ship. This will guarantee that the ship is safely stored in their garage and readily available for use.
How to Increase Ship Slots
Unfortunately,Starfieldhas noskill or upgradeto increase the allowed ships’ limit. Players have two options:collecting free starshipsthrough quests or installing a mod that lets them own additional ships beyond the default limit.
