Summary
Players being able to customize and upgrade their own spaceships is a big part ofStarfield, and one player showed off their own awesome design of a space freighter capable of storing and shifting huge loads of cargo. With many aspects ofStarfieldclearly sharing design ancestry with some of Bethesda’s other massive franchises such asFallout, it’s no surprise that resource gathering, trading, and crafting are all crucial parts of the game – and carrying around all the necessary equipment isn’t always easy.
Unlike previous Bethesda titles, though,Starfieldallows players to own their own spaceship. The helium-fueled spacecraft found all throughout the galaxy make traveling around the universe a breeze, and can be fitted with no end of attachments and upgrades too.Starfield’s ships are fully customizable, with players able to strip out and replace anything from their laser cannons to their interior habitat modules, allowing fans to build their dream ship – at a significant cost, of course. Players should keep in mind that the best ship components don’t come at any small credit cost, but the expense can be well worth it for players who want a leg-up in space combat or a little extra storage capacity.

Ships can beoptimized for all sorts of purposes inStarfield, so every player will undoubtedly have a slightly different ride depending on whether they’re a space trucker or a space explorer. For those looking to carry as much as possible, few seem to have designed as great a vessel as the Reddit user ggalaxyy has, who recently showed off their space hauler in a popular post on the site. Most of this large ship’s bow section is devoted to housing a plentiful number of storage containers, with the ship itself apparently capable of packing up to 24,000 mass. This is an unbelievable amount of space considering that the game’s starter ship can only hold a few hundred units of mass, with a cargo freighter of this scale able to store more than most players would ever need to carry at any one time.
Likeother games fromStarfield’s developer, furthering the ability to carry things is possible in many different ways, with certain ship and gear perks combining well with character skill perks that can afford a greater carry capacity. Players eager to loot the weapons and suits of fallen enemies will find their inventories filling up extremely quickly, and while mined resources tend to incur a small mass individually, hoarding minerals can also fill up a cargo hold surprisingly fast.
Putting together a fully-fledged cargo freighter may be expensive, but doing so can certainly provide a decisive solution to storage issues. WithStarfieldoffering so many options for starship engineering, though, there’s more than one way to build a hauler, and it’s exciting to see what wild designs fans will come up with next.
Starfieldis available on PC and Xbox Series X/S.
