Players may be hesitant to go up against some of the most iconic DC heroes, but judging from theSuicide Squadtrailer, it seems that strange things are happening in Metropolis and whatever is going on in the city is affecting the Justice League as well. With a huge lineup of superheroes in the Justice League’s roster, there are many possible targets that the Suicide Squad will have to fight duringSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, but here are a few, good possibilities:

Superman
It’s basically confirmed that the Suicide Squad will fight Superman thanks to his status as Amanda Waller’s ‘Alpha target,’ but this doesn’t seem to be the Superman that everyone knows and loves. With Batman seeminglyout of the Arkham-versefor good, the man of steel is the biggest player the Squad can face. A Superman vs. Suicide Squad boss battle is likely to be one of the biggest in the game, and he will likely be one of the hardest targets to kill, thanks to his never-ending range of powers. Why Superman has turned against civilization is up for debate, but it’s a sure guess that whatever has happened to Superman could have happened to the other Justice League heroes as well.
The Flash
One of Flash’s old enemies,Captain Boomerang, is a playable character inSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, so it makes sense that the two rivals would meet in the game. Flash’s speed powers would be more than a match for the team of four, but Boomerang showed some speed powers of his own in theSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leaguetrailer, meaning he might just be the only one who has a shot against the hero. During the game announcement at DC FanDome, Captain Boomerang teased that he would be eager to kill the Flash in the game, which makes it seem even likelier that the speedster will be a target.
Aquaman
Another Justice League hero with a rival team member on the Suicide Squad is Aquaman. As the ruler of Atlantis, Aquaman has had manydealings with King Sharkand his father the Shark God. Once upon a time in the comics, King Shark and Aquaman even held a grudging alliance, with King Shark mentoring Aquaman into his role as a leader. Whether or notSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leaguekeeps this same backstory, it’s highly likely that the two will have history thanks to their shared ocean homeland. It’s been a while since Aquaman has featured significantly in a video game (outsideFortnite) and bringing him intoSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leaguecould offer up a world of interesting combat opportunities, particularly an underwater boss fight.
Green Lantern
Green Lantern has been handled poorly in many of the attempts to bring him to modern media, but he would make a worthy opponent inSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Utilizing the potential of his Power Ring would make Green Lantern basically unstoppable against any of the Suicide Squad members in combat. Plus bringing him into the game would be a chance for Rocksteady to redefine the character and open the door for more Green Lantern appearancesin the expanding Arkham-verse.
Black Canary
Black Canary already has existing history in the Arkham-verse, having been mentioned by Oracle inArkham Knight. It seems that Black Canary was an ally to Batman, and it makes sense that she would be helping the Justice League after the Dark Knight’s downfall. Black Canary would likely have a similar fighting style to Catwoman from previousArkhamgames, but with the added advantage of her sonic cry which would be a tough match for any of the Suicide Squad members. IfSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leaguechooses to follow certain comics,Harley Quinn might have a backstorywith Black Canary via the Birds of Prey storyline, which would make for an epic boss battle between the two.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leaguewill be released in 2022 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X.
