The video starts off with a rather dark tone, panning over cultists worshipping at an altar of Dagon. Long timeElder Scrollsfans will recognize this being as one of the Daedric Princes, and the main antagonist ofThe Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion. The cultists have brought ruin to the lands of Tamriel in their quest to command power they do not understand. Players will seek to end the plotting by completing two dangerous challenges. From the trailer description, the Cauldron and Black Drake Villa dungeons will begin the Gates of Oblivion adventure.

While the gameplay from the trailer is vague, it does look like fans will have their hands full. Starting off, there looks to be plenty of cultists to take on, each with their own magical abilities. Fire seems to be a common theme, as the trailer showcases the main character escaping from a barrage of flames. Many of the enemies shown in the video look to be summons from fire as well, so players should prepare to deal with burning targets. There is a minotaur thrown in for good measure too, and the end of the trailer reveals thatDagon will appear inThe Elder Scrolls Onlineat some point.

With its release back in 2014,The Elder Scrolls Onlinehas seen consistent expansionsand updates. While it is a far different game today, even allowing travel across all regions, it still maintains the lore of the series. Bringing in a familiar face from Oblivion should be exciting for those who enjoy the world ofTheElder Scrolls.

But with around 7 years into the title, some gamers may not find a dungeon pack that exciting. In comparison to other modern titles, gameplay in the MMO can feel a bit antiquated or repetitive. No doubt these two dungeons are not on thelist of additions fans want forThe Elder Scrolls Online. Nevertheless, the Flames of Ambition DLC will provide some extra content to explore as the Gate of Oblivion adventure unfolds.

The Elder Scrolls Onlineis available on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions also in development.
